Design LC Filter Thesis Daivaprakash

Design Lf The design of inductor used in the secondary filter circuit is influenced by the amount of ripple current allowed through the inductor. Normally 10% of the output current is considered as typical value for the current ripple. Io =25A Io=0.1x25=2.5A ( )

Design Cf The amount of output voltage ripple allowed at the output voltage decides the capacitor value to be used for filtering purpose. The specified limit for voltage ripple is 1% of the set value. ( )

Output Filter Selection Elton pepa-- Adaptive control of FBC

The output filter inductor and capacitor values were calculated based on maximum ripple current and ripple voltage magnitudes. A peak inductor current ripple no greater than 20% of the average inductor current was desired.

Filter capacitor value is calculated based on the inductor ripple value and the ripple voltage output.

Design of filter - Swaminathan

The output filter inductor takes DC current and the ripple component is very less. It is not required to use high frequency ferrite material for the filter inductor. N67 is used as the core material. It is assumed that the peak-to-peak ripple current is 10% of the full load current. ( ) The output filter capacitor uses metallized polyester type. ESR of the capacitor is 6m. As ESR of the capacitor is very low, it is assumed that output voltage ripple is because of inductor ripple current only. Peak-to-peak ripple is assumed to 0.1%
