PEFC in Asia.....

Malaysia first national system in Asia to achieve PEFC endorsement

Malaysia Timber Certification Council (MTCC) became PEFC Endorsed in 2009 4.6 million hectares of PEFC certified natural forests Plantation standard now endorsed by PEFC

China CFCC - joined PEFC Council in 2011, national system completed PEFC Assessment process. Waiting for PEFC General Assembly postal ballot vote. Indonesia IFCC joined PEFC membership in 2012. Scheme submitted. Other Asian countries considering or advancing on certification system development: Myanmar, Vietnam, India, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Turkey
