Evaluation Question 2- How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

As the target audience we want INFLUXX to have is uni-sex, I had to consider the style of the digipak and poster very wisely I have always !een drawn to the "ore artistic and exclusive prints on #$ covers such as, %a"e I"pala and %he XX, rather than ones with a photograph of the !and or artist In "y opinion ones with a "ore conceptual and rare style provoke "ore attention %herefore I wanted to "irror this and create a si"ilar effect on the target audience, "aking the" intrigued to !uy the al!u" and to research "ore into the !and As I have "entioned in the previous evaluation &uestion, the artwork that I created in art last yea really proves "y theory 'ith the colour palette used it doesn(t connote to a particular gender As the art is &uite !old I decided to keep the rest of the colour palette toned down slightly I decided to go for the "onochro"e the"e again, which related !ack to the "usic video, where we styled Alex and )llie in this way In ter"s of the digipak I left the re"aining four panels a solid colour of !lack If I applied the artwork to all four panels it would not !e as pro"inent %he digipak contained a s"all s&uare poster that could !e folded out fro" a s"all slot %he !ack of the artwork had a clean, "atte !lack finish I also added a poster, which features the artwork central on the A* paper As well as the artwork the typography is in a !old, white typeface, which links to the text on the digipak 'hilst fil"ing the video we were very particular when it ca"e to the fra"ing 'e wanted to create a sy""etrical appearance in order for it to look aesthetically pleasing on the eye, this links to the positioning of text on the poster and digipak %he typography on the !ack cover of the digipak is again central+ !y !eing consistent with the fra"ing it creates good continuity and a professional finish to the products As we worked separately on the digipak and poster I used a different record la!el to the other group "e"!ers %his can easily !e changed on photoshop, however it doesn(t link to the "usic video, as at the end the closing fra"e features the record la!el ,IA-./UN$( After so"e feed!ack I received, it was suggested that I include the lyrics of the 01 tracks featuring on the al!u" to !e applied onto the poster I tested out "any versions of this, each song had a different a!out of characters, resulting in different si2ed sections of texts which looked "essy and inco"plete I felt as if the "ini"al aspect I wanted to create was fading Although it was a good idea, I still feel that I "ade the right decision, and follow ,less is "ore(
