Zip Lines and Jesus !

! Summer is one of the busiest times for our Student Ministry. We are constantly striving to make summer a key time of growth and discipleship for our students. One of our major pushes in that regard is summer camp at Jonathan Creek. It is a time where students have fun doing al sorts of activities, but they are also challenged in their faith. Our prayer is that you would consider sending your student to camp and invest in their spiritual development.

True greatness is real humility.

The theme of camp this year comes from John 3:39 where John the Bsptist exclaims, "I must become lesser and he must become greater." John was talking specically about Jesus. We live in a culture that idolizes fame and greatness and all of the trappings surrounding them. In fact, it is ingrained even in our music. Billboard Hot 100 reports the 5 most popular songs in the country: 1. The Monster- Eminem 2. Timber- Pitbull 3. Counting Stars- One Republic 4. Say Something- A Great Big World

5. Royals- Lorde

Each song represents the reality of our culture that is either highly individualist or materialistic. The greater the individual or material wealth means you are somebody. Jesus came as a servant, but he is our king. The beginning of a relationship with Jesus is humility. This means we leave our pride and selshness at the door in search of something far greater. Our hope is that this year our ministry and your students will take those steps together as we grow in our faith through Jesus.
