ROCKINGHAM Free Public Library Family Events Family Book Group: Families can borrow copies of The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury and enjoy Family Fun Night ‘Activities throughout the month of October that are based on the book. The story tell of eight boys out on a Halloween night and their journey through time led by a mysterious character named Moundshroud. They ride on the wind to scenes in distant lands and times, where they witness other ways and reasons for celebrating Halloween. Tuesday, October 2nd, 6:00 pm— Mummies and Ancient Egypt Learn a little of the how and why mummies were created. We'll be mummifying apples, playing a wrapping-relay game, and more, Tuesday, October 9th, 6:00 pm— Day of the Dead We'll decorate sugar skulls and take a look at this fun celebration. Then join us on November 1st, the actual Day of the Dead, for a small event. Tuesday, October 16th, 5:00 pm— The Halloween Tree We'll be having a short, fun discussion about the book The Halloween Tree, followed by a showing of the animated film. Everyone is welcome regardless of whether or not you've read the book, Tuesday, October 30th, 6:00—7:00 Annual Family Halloween Party Join us in costume and enjoy, games, activities, stories, and much more! Activities for the Very young After school Programs Every Tuesday, 10:30 - Story/Craft "Something Cool After School’ Moves to Wednes- Listen to 2-3 stories and take part in an age- day this year, every week at 3:30 appropriate craft project. For ages 7 and under.
