Outside Stanton, TX there used to be a welcoming sign that read, Welcome to Stanton! Home of 3,000 of the friendly folks and a few old soreheads. Every community and church can have a few old soreheads. At Eastmont we enjoy a healthy, happy united fellowship for three primary reasons. We love God. We love people. We want to reach the lost. Keeping those priorities will work in any church. Even Stanton. Staying in touch with a church member who no longer wishes to attend can be tricky. We respect their choices, but we also care for their spiritual condition. Never give up on anyone. An occasional card or phone call, a visit is certainly a good thing. Always pray for them and let them know they have not been forgotten. Jesus reminded us to leave the 99 sheep to recover the one. You may be surprised at how effective a friendly encouraging visit can be. The poet Elizabeth Browning was an invalid. She was unable to lift her head from a pillow. One day Robert Browning visited her. That one visit brought her such joy she was able to lift her head. After his second visit, she was able to sit up in bed. On the third visit, they eloped. No wonder she could write a beautiful sonnet. How do I love thee, let me count the ways... The laughter, love, and joy of friends is powerful and the joy of the Lord is even stronger. Medicine of Laughter: When a pastor announced he was leaving the church, one of the members came to him crying. Dont cry sister Green, he told her. The convention will send you a better preacher next time. Her sobs became even louder. Thats what they said last time and it just got worse. Ill see you Sunday (please dont cry),

A big thank you to our media staff that is always so willing to work and record our programs. And thank you parents, for entrusting us with your precious children as we shared with them the many ways we can express our love for God through music. Thank you Eastmont family for supporting the programs the children presented this year. It is such a blessing to be a part of a church family that encourages and supports music programs that help our children to grow in their faith, those same children that one day will be the leaders of our church. -Gayla Reaves Childrens Music Ministry Coordinator
