All shot distances used are midshot, need expanding on to ensure that there is more of a variety to show camera skills. The models clearly support the indie genre of his magazine, from looks to clothes. I feel the shadows on the DPS have no effect on the indie genre, however the clothing clearly highlights the genre. The cropping is clean, the resizing hasnt distorted the images, however the sizes of the photos on the contents are in my opinion too small. The language register used could be developed more to sway towards a more indie genre, currently it comes across too mainstream. Using negative space is the more effective way of getting around

integrating text and image, as this increases the aesthetic as the audience would be more appreciative of this. Showing understanding of conventions of layout and page design The layout of all pages looks extremely professional, to improve further, fill in the negative space on the DPS. I think the use of different fonts is perfectly used in all positions, and the use of one font used only on the contents works brilliantly. Use of up to date software for example photoshop, however to increase good development of DPS use PagePlusXP.

Summary Comment: I feel that this magazine is of a high Level 3 standard at this current moment. With improvements from areas such as developing a more professional layout for the double paged spread, and the sizing and placement of the photos on the contents page this magazine has potential for Level 4. I feel that the images on the contents page are all of different sizes which doesnt work well, and decreases the professionalism and the aesthetic of the product.
