GENOCIDE: Inquiring minds want to know!Canadian GENOCIDE explained: Roland Chrisjohn's take on the 'apology' of the Canadiangovernment, and what GENOCIDE means, can be heard here:http://www.ncra.ca/exchange/dspProgramDetail.cfm?programID=72612 (scroll down andlisten)Please allow me to write out a bit of it, so that we can be very clear on the issues, and also for those who might not have too much time to go and listen...The word Genocide was coined by Raphael Lemkin. He wrote a paper in 1944 and used thisterm to explain his view and his analysis of what Hitler's Germany was doing to the Jewsand the Gypsies of the time, himself being a Jew. His argument in this paper is very strong, and cannot be argued. The United Nations Genocide Convention was articulated in 1948. It proves that 'Canada'and the 'United States' conspired to commit Genocide, and there is no going around this. There is no argument or excuse(s) to be made...In this paper, he explains that the physical act of Genocide, killing people, is rather marginaland certainly unnecessary... But the most important aspects of Genocide, the most seriousones, are the cultural and social 'life attacks'...The United Nations Convention on Genocide states the following:Article II: In the present Convention, Genocide means any of the following acts committedwith the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group assuch:A) Killing members of the group.B) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group.C) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about itsphysical destruction in whole or in part.D) Imposing measures intended to prevent birth within the group.E) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."Well, you can dispute a lot of things about and within the Residential Schools, but youCANNOT dispute section E. This is EXACTLY what the Canadian government legislated. This is EXACTLY what the Canadian government instructed the RCMP and child welfareagencies provincially to carry out: "Go and take the children away from their parents, fromtheir communities, and put them under the control of the churches." So, the Canadiangovernment not only legislated it, but the churches implemented it."
