INVITATION TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION INTO POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME 2014/ 2015

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (MSc. CC & SD) REGULAR PROGRAMME The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications for admission into the Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (MSc. CC & SD) Regular programme for the 2014/2015 Academic Year. The programme will be offered through the Centre for Climate Change Studies of the University of Dar es Salaam. Objective of the programme The objective of the programme is to enable graduates generate solutions to climate change and development problems by linking climate change science, developmental issues, policy and practice. It is targeting for graduates who have a background in natural resources, development and climate change related concepts. Duration: The MSc. CC & SD Regular programme will run for 18 months (12 months for coursework and 6 months for dissertation) The programme is a semester-based course where students will be required to study 3 core courses and 3 elective courses during each semester/ year. Each core and elective course will have three (3) units. The last six months will be used for dissertation work (eight [8] units).

Mode of delivery:

Admission Requirements 1. Possession of a good Bachelors Degree of the University of Dar es Salaam or an equivalent degree from another recognized University in the following area: Engineering, Science, Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Law, Gender, Media, Arts and Social Sciences (e.g. Geography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Political Science, Sociology etc.).

Computer literacy will be an added advantage. Applicants should have three referees (at least two of whom should be of reputable academic/ professional standing).
