0Tech-0CI N00) in Bavana, Cuba hosteu the fiist }amaican Piogiamming
Challenge on Naich 1, 2u14. The event was hosteu by the SCIT anu hau 8 teams
consisting of S paiticipants each iepiesenting S uiffeient institutions. The SCIT
enteieu S teams iepiesenting 0Tech, NBCC S teams anu 0CC 2 teams.

Pioceeuings commenceu at 1u:uu am with a woikshop compiising of an
oveiview of the ACN-ICPC, the ACN-ICPC movement in }amaica, tiaining
iesouices, team stiategies anu the pioposeu calenuai of events.

The competition commenceu at 12:uu pm anu concluueu at 4:uu pm. Stuuent
teams weie challengeu with 9 questions with vaiying levels of uifficulty, to solve
as many as possible within the time. Questions iequiieu stuuents to pull fiom
vaiying aieas of computei science anu mathematics incluuing algebia, giaphs,
stiing piocessing, uata stiuctuies among otheis.

At the enu of the competition, stanuings ievealeu that teams fiom 0Tech helu
fiist anu seconu place, a team fiom 0CC holuing thiiu anu a team fiom NBCC
secuiing fouith. All othei teams shaieu fifth as they weie unable to ieceive an
accepteu solution.

Foi this competition, the ACN-ICPC }amaica has iecoiueu the most submissions
evei accepteu in a local competition by an inciease of moie than 2uu% since the
ACN-ICPC has been in existence in }amaica fiom 2u1u.
