METHODOLOGY FOR APPLICATION OF HOT APLIED PAVEMENT MARKING 1.) PREPARATION OF MATERIAL: First material in 25 Kg packing from same batch nos. are separated from the lot and loaded in the truck on which premelters are kept. Premelters, which are indirect heating type thermostatic controlled are of capacity 1000kgs. Each is preheated to 60 degree and then one of the preheater is partially loaded. After heating, once the oil has reached a temperature of 120 degree hydraulic agitation is started. Then premelter is loaded to its full capacity that is 1000 kgs and heated to 240 degrees (heating oil temperature and 200 degrees material temp.) Now second premelter is preheated to 60 degrees and partially filled with material and same method is adopted to heat the material. The oil temp and material temp. is maintained with the help of the thermostat, which gives automatic cutoff for heating. This prevents the material from overheating. This procedure initial load takes 45 min to 60 min. There after for each next load premelter is filled with fresh material without stopping agitation and to the quantity, which has taken out from the premelter for marking. For every load after the first load 20 min. of time required. Hence twin premelters, which are heated simultaneously, will provide continuous supply of material/paint to the marking machine. 2.) PREMARKING: Premarking is done with the help of linedori by connecting the specific points previously marked. This premarked line is then, followed by the help of the guider attached to the machine and thermoplastic is laid in required line and pattern. 3.) APPLICATION: Our machine is extrusion type and has a material capacity of 500kgs. This machine has indirect heating facility for maintaining material temperature. This material tank is preheated to 200 degree and only then material is taken from premelter. Temperature in the material tank is maintained by thermostat.
NOTE: -

We undertake thermoplastic road marking as per the guidelines of MOST and IRC 35.

Management Information System

Effective Communication within a company is one of the most important factors which determine its success.

We at Vinayaka Structural Engineers (P) Ltd. pride ourselves at having one of the most efficient and effective communication systems with us. This helps us in carrying out our work with high efficiency and Transparency.

The Site supervisor submits a daily report of the work carried out on the site to the office after the work is wound up for the day. This enables the office to make correct estimates and projections about the completion of work as well smooth flow of resources from office to the site. This also helps us in solving any problem (technical or financial) without any stoppage to the work. This ensures the completion of work in tightest of schedules.

A weekly financial report is submitted by the Accountant to Our Board of Directors, which helps us to make sufficient financial provisions for the site so that the work is carried out unhindered. Due to this all of our employees are paid on time which keeps them motivated to complete the work on time. This streamlines our financial resources and helps to put a check on unnecessary expenditure, which might be carried out. This is beneficial to our clients as it helps them to complete their project in proper time and allocated finances.

With the view of achieving high standards in project execution we are well equipped with state of art communication devices which effectively keep us in constant touch with our people on site. This ensures that we complete our projects on time with good efficiency and give our clients total work satisfaction.

BRIGHTLINE
(THERMOPLSTIC PAINT MANUFACTURED BY VINAYAKA)

Thermoplastic paint manufactured by VSEPL is under brand name BRITELINE. Presently we are using our product for our own consumption. All the ingredients used for the thermoplastic paint are procured of specific quality, keeping the specifications in view. To ensure consistency in the final product, we are using raw material like resin, glass beads, pigment etc. from internationally renowned manufacturers who has stringent quality control on their products. We are using hydrocarbon resin manufactured by Exxon Mobil. Tio2 is purchased from DuPont USA. Intermix glass bead are procured from Potters Australia or Thailand. This has helped us to serve our client better in terms of quality and durability of our road marking. Our in house testing laboratory is used for testing of raw material and final product. Every batch is tested before sending it to site. We are keeping the track record and small sample of the paint supplied (batch wise) from each lot send to site for future reference and on site observation reports. Our innovative team of technicians are working hard to find out different formulations while sticking up to MORTH norms and to overcome problems observed generally in thermoplastic paint such as blackening in city area, tire marks etc. It is their efforts that we are successful in formulating different formulations for different regions (temp. wise) of India.

ABOUT OUR THERMOPLASTIC PAINT MANUFACTURING FACILITY

We have advance manufacturing facility at our plant in Mahad MIDC, Dist.Raigad in Maharashtra. Mahad MIDC being a strategic location for manufacturing (since it is 130 Km from the JNPT port) help us in keeping our transportation cost low. The entire required infrastructure is made available by state govt. in MIDC helps us to reach our client fast and more efficiently. We have started to upgrade the plant in terms of output and automation. We are going to install state of art fully automatic computerized mixing unit, where addition of ingredients in specific quantity will be monitored through computer program. We expect this facility will be operational by Oct.2009 and our capacity will be increased to 30 MT per day. We have provided fully developed testing facility at our plant All the lots of raw material as well as final product are tested periodically and results are incorporated with random outside testing reports. We generally preserve the samples of paint supplied to our client till defect liability (guarantee period) period for ready reference. We are also planning to go for ISO certification in near future.

OUR OTHER ACTIVITIES 1. Road Signage

We also undertake sign board works for various road projects. Our sister concern in Ahemadnager has fully equipped fabrication shop. Our advantage over others is our designing team, who are experts in designing steel structures for gantry, cantilevers etc. and for suitable RCC foundations. We use various grades of Avery Dennison or 3M reflective sheeting as per the clients requirement. We have required machinery for the job. The reflective sheet manufacturers are extending us excellent technical support as and when required. All these factors are helpful in fulfilling clients requirements in scheduled time.

2. Mastic asphalt We undertake mastic asphalt work of any size and various thicknesses. We have infrastructure to carry out mastic asphalt with conventional method as well as using advance machinery like automatic batch mix plant, transit mixers to carry ready mastic mix in hot condition to site, fully automatic variable width mastic paver finisher etc. Conventional method: Mastic asphalt is prepared in small capacity cookers (1MT to 1.5 MT capacities).Feeding of metal, sand, calcite, bitumen etc.is done manually with the help of premeasured containers. This mix is cooked for 1.5 to 2 hrs in mechanically agitated cooker and then the ready mastic is transported to laying site in small hand trolleys. This mastic so transported is then floated manually with wooden floats in a width of 1mts to 1.5 mts. Laying thickness is generally between 6mm to 40mm as per the clients requirement. We have 5 such cookers and sufficient skilled manpower to achieve a daily output of about 600 Sqm of 40mm thk.laying. Using advance machinery: In year 2007 for our work of providing and laying mastic asphalt on Eastern Expressway (client MMRDA ,Mumbai)we have imported mastic paver finisher and allied machinery from Europe. This machinery is found to be very useful for large or medium size work of mastic asphalt. The complete set of machinery consists of following items. 1) Batch mix plant for mastic asphalt: This plant is manufactured here in India using indigenous design and spare parts available in local market. Plant is designed in such manner that exact percentages of ingredients are gathered in hot condition in the temp. maintained mixers and also to ensure continue supply of mastic to transit mixers.

This plant is manufactured here in India using indigenous design and spare parts available in local market. Plant is designed in such manner that exact percentages of ingredients are gathered in hot condition in the temp. maintained mixers and also to ensure continue supply of mastic to transit mixers. Here two mixers having heating arrangement is fed alternately by a hoper fitted with load cell to weigh the preheated dry mix. Metal and sand etc are heated in specially designed dryer drum to temp.250 degree C and by using insulated bucket conveyer fed to feeder hoper. Lime powder (calcite) is separately fed to feeder hoper through calibrated screw conveyer. This calcite is heated in calcite tank fitted at the starting of screw conveyer. Bitumen is separately fed through jacketed pipeline and pump to a reservoir of defined volume (as per the design mix) and from there pumped to mixers. Achieved output of 120 MT in eight hrs.

2) Transit Mixers.

These transit mixers are designed for 10 MT mastic load carrying capacity. These mixers are manufactured at our Ahemadnager workshop. Here a cylindrical tank made of special alloy is mounted on chassis with tilting arrangement. Temp. of mastic is maintained in this cylindrical tank with oil jacketed heating. Mastic is agitated with hydraulic agitator while moving at very low rpm. 3) Paver finisher: This paver finisher is imported from Europe. This has hydrostatic variable speed drive and variable laying width adjustment. Thickness is adjusted by hydraulic cylinder. This cylinder is used to lower or lift the paver to desired thickness. Calibrated scale is mounted on side of the paver, where directly once can see the thickness being laid. It has a adjustment to maintain the camber of the road. Thickness can be laid from 20 mm to 50 mm using this paver.

Avg.laying speed is about 5 km/Hr.in 5.5 mts width. Infrared heaters are provided on side of the paver to seal the joints with adjoining layer previously laid. The ready mastic mix transported by transit mixer to site is poured in front of the paver finisher. A distribution screw is mounted on front side of the paver to distribute the mastic to its full width. Once the mastic poured is spread to full width of the paver; paver is started to move in forward direction to lay the mastic uniformly and in desired thickness. Mastic when freshly laid is very smooth in texture, hence antiskid is required to avoid skidding of vehicles. Antiskid is carried out by spreading metal size 8mm to 10 mm at the rate of 10 to 12 kg per Sqm. On freshly laid mastic which is still hot. Spreading of size metal (chips) is done just behind the paver, manually or by chip spreader.
