Select AUTOCAD 2012

Change the unit type UN then change the unit from inch to mm.

Sketch that border with size ( 100mm x 100mm ) Choose insert then browse your picture. Draw the picture use line and arc based on the picture Use Arc to draw the picture.

Then make a TRIM Joint all line to make one object

EDGECAM

Click EDGECAM icon

Open files select Option then select Preferences. change the unit from inch to mm. import data/picture.

Create stock: Select the Geometry from the menu bar. Select the Stock Fixture option. Make sure to tick the Automatic Stock box. In the Box Offset, set the value of X, Y and Z. Then click OK.

Create CPL: Select the Geometry from the menu bar. Select the Create CPL option.

At the General tab tick the Origin box. Then put name of CPL at the Name box. In Plane box select <none> Select MILL <XY> option for the Work Plane. And for the Dimention select 2D. Finally, click OK.

After that look at the bottom of the screen. The instruction says Digitise Origin for CPL. So click at the end of your stock. The CPL will be at the new origin.

Switching to Manufacture Mode: To switch, click the Switch to Manufacture Mode icon Your interface will change from drawing mode .

to manufacture mode.

After that you will see the Machining Sequence dialog box. You may and may not put name at the Sequence Name . At the Discipline box choose Mill. Choose fanuc3x.mcp at the Machine Tool box. Make sure the Initial CPL name is the name that you use earlier. No need to tick the Machine Datum box. Lastly, make sure that you use Absolute at the Datum Type. Click OK.

Cutting prosess : Select Tooling at the menu bar. Select Tool Store. Choose your tool according to your project Then click at the SELECT button. Select MILL CYCLES at the menu bar.

At general tab: Model type Mill type Strategy NC output % step over Clean up % step over Stock type Federate Speed Plunge federate = wireframe = climb = concentric = feed = 50 = 80 = use none or profile =250 =2500 RPM =100

After that depth tab, set the value needed in clearance, depth level and cut increament. Then click OK. Look at the bottom of the screen for further instruction. Example using NONE as the stock type : Digitise line / arc/continuous/curve as profile select your object then ENTER. Digitise containment boundry entries (return for none) then ENTER. Example using PROFILE as the stock type. Digitise line / arc/ continuous/ curve as profile select your object then ENTER. Digitise stock profile select your stock then enter. Digitise containment boundry ebtities (return for none) then ENTER. Repeat the cutting process until the whole drawing is done.

Introduction CAD/CAM
Throughout the history of our industrial society, many inventions have been patented and whole new technologies have evolved. Perhaps the single development that has impacted manufacturing more quickly and significantly than any previous technology is the digital computer.

Computers are being used increasingly for both design and detailing of engineering components in the drawing office.

Computer-aided design (CAD) is defined as the application of computers and graphics software to aid or enhance the product design from conceptualization to documentation. CAD is most commonly associated with the use of an interactive computer graphics system, referred to as a CAD system. Computer-aided design systems are powerful tools and in the mechanical design and geometric modeling of products and components.

There are several good reasons for using a CAD system to support the engineering design function:

To increase the productivity To improve the quality of the design To uniform design standards

To create a manufacturing data base To eliminate inaccuracies caused by hand-copying of drawings and inconsistency between drawings.

OBJECTIVE To design and manufacture products To support industry on the use various 3D CAD/CAM system. To foster the development of high value services and to streamline product innovation. THEORY Product development Mechanical design 3D modeling Reverse engineering Engineering & assembly drawing To create geometry drawing using AUTOCAD. To create solid work drawing using EDGECAM. Stimulate the tool path and operation.

APPLICATION Mechanical design Mold design

New product development and design.

CONCLUSION
Nowadays, product can be produced by modern technology, which use computer software, hardware and firm ware in industries. It is needed to use CAD/CAM machine to get more accurate dimensions and irregular shape. So CAD/CAM is important in our country. CAD/CAM has been utilized in engineering practice in many ways including drafting, design, simulation, analysis and manufacturing. The benefits or CAD/CAM can be fully realized only if an effective interface is established between them. Superior product can be created and tremendous competitive advantages gained. Introduction of CAD/CAM significantly improved of product design and manufacturing practices and production planning. At industrial side, student will able to satisfy the employee with the skill conducting CAD/CAM machine. Student will be able to study the software with a good condition and my opinion there a recommendation needs to improves because all machine or pc is well in maintenance although student is very comfort to study.
