mission
of
AGARD
is
to bring together the
leading
personalities
of
the
NATO
nationsin the
fields
ofscienceand
technology relating
to aerospacefor
the
following
purposes:

Exchanging
of
scientific
and technical information;

Continuously
stimulatingadvancesin the aerospace
sciences
:elevant tostrengtheningthecommondefence posture;

Improving
the co-operationamongmembernationsinaerospaceresearch and development;

Providing
scientific
and
technical
adviceand assistancetothe
North
AtlanticMilitary Committeeinthe
field
of
aerospaceresearchand development;

Rendering
scientific
and
technical
assistance,
as
requested,to
othe:
NATO
bodies and
to
member nations
in
connection
with
researchand developmentproblems inthe aerospace field;

Providingassistance
to member nationsfor
the
purpose
of
increasing
their
scientific

technical

highest
authority
within
AGARD
is
the
NationalDelegatesBoardconsisting
of
officially
appointedseniorrepresentatives
from
eachmember nation.
The
mission
of
AGARD
is
carried
out
through thePanels
which
arecomposed
of
experts appointed
by
the
NationalDelegates,theConsultant and ExchangeProgramme
and the
AerospaceApplications
v

Studies Programme.
The
results
of AGARD
workarereported tothemembernations andthe NATO Authorities throughthe
AGARD
series
of publications
of
which
this
is
one.Participation
in
AGARD
activities
is
by
invitation
only
and
is
normally limited
to
citizens
of
the
NATO
nations.
