Gematria: Every Hebrew letter has a numerical equivalent called its gematria. The
sum of the values of the letters of a word or a phrase is the gematria of that word or
phrase. Two words or phrases with the same gematria are seen as being related, and
that similarity indicates a basis for an allusion.

Notrikon is a phonetic method, whereby the syllables or letters that make up a

word are taken as separate units that refer to whole words, which usually make
up a phrase from the Tanach or an idiom of the Sages.
