EARLY DILMUNSEALS FROM SAAR
The excavations at Saar produced thelargest single corpus of Bronze Ageseals and sealings ever found inBahrain, the centre of the Dilmuncivilization (2000 BC). The materialforms a unique record of the art of theperiod, and provides valuableinformation about the commercialactivities of the inhabitants of Saar.  An introductory text describes thestudy of seals and sealings, and isfollowed by a comprehensive analysisof the stylistic and functionalattributes of the Saar material. Theaccompanying catalogue contains fulldetails of over two hundred seals andsealings, and is lavishly illustrated with colour photographs. The book will be of importance to allthose interested in the art of theancient world, and to researchers working in the expanding area of  Arabian archaeology. It is the second volume in the series of reports on the excavations at Saar, carried out by the London-Bahrain Archaeological Expedition between1990 and 1999.
