Senator Gianaris Statement on Mayor de Blasio, UFT Reaching Contract Agreement

(Astoria, NY) Senator Michael Gianaris released the following statement regarding the contract agreement reached by Mayor Bill de Blasio and the United Federation of Teachers. Five years of working without a contract for our teachers was simply unacceptable. I congratulate Mayor de Blasio and Mike Mulgrew for reaching an agreement that will provide our hardworking educators the assurance that their efforts are valued and appreciated. I look forward to continuing to work with the Mayor to improve our schools and provide a quality education for all New York City students. # # #
