The document outlines a long-term training plan for gymnasts with several levels of periodicity, from a 1-2 week microcycle up to a multi-year plan. It explains that a slow progression is needed to safely develop skills to high levels over many years. Planning must consider competition calendars, testing, preparation and competition periods, workload, and transition periods to reduce injury and maximize productivity and development over time.
