June 2/15, First Sunday of Pentecost, Sunday of All Saints, Tone 8

Beatitudes: 12 verses, with four found on page 477 of the Pentecostarion, and
then the others from the Third and Sixth Odes of the Canon of the Saints in the
Pentecostarion.
The Sunday Troparion in Tone 8
Thou didst come down from on high, Merciful Savior, and accept burial for three
days, that thou mightiest free us from our passions. O Lord, our Life and
Resurrection, glory to thee.
Troparion for All Saints, in Tone 4
Adorned in the blood of Thy martyrs throughout all the world as in purple and fine
linen, Thy Church, through them, doth cry unto Thee, O Christ God: Send down
Thy compassions upon Thy people; grant peace to Thy commonwealth, and
great mercy to our souls.
Troparion for St. Nicephorus the Confessor, in Tone 4
The truth of things revealed the to thy flock as a rule of faith, a model of
meekness and a teacher of abstinence. Wherefore, thou hast acquired exalted
things through humility and riches through poverty. O father Nicephorus, entreat
Christ God, that our souls be saved.
Troparion for the Nativity of the Forerunner, in Tone 4
O prophet and forerunner of the coming of Christ, we who honor thee with love
are at a loss how to praise thee worthily; for by thy glorious and honored nativity
thou didst loose the barrenness of her who gaveth birth to thee and the muteness
of thy father, and dost proclaim unto the world the incarnation of the Son of God.
Sunday Kontakion in Tone 8
Having risen from the tomb, thou didst raise the dead and resurrect Adam, and
Eve dances with joy at thy resurrection. And all the ends of the earth keep festival
at thy rising from the dead, O Most Merciful One.
Kontakion of All Saints, in Tone 4
As to creation's Planter, all the world doth offer unto Thee as nature's first-fruits
the God-bearing Martyrs, Lord, for they bare witness unto Thee. Thus preserve
Thou Thy Church by their entreaties, O Savior, in the profoundest peace, through
the pure Theotokos, O Thou Who art greatly merciful.
Kontakion for St. Nicephorus the Confessor, in Tone 4
As thou hast received a crown of victory from God in heave, O Nicephorus, save
those who honor thee with faith as a hierarch of Christ and teacher.

Kontakion for the Nativity of St. John, in Tone 3
Today she who before was barren giveth birth unto the forerunner of Christ, and
he is the fulfillment of all prophecy; for laying his hand in the Jordan upon Him
whom the prophets foretold, he hath been shown to be the prophet, herald and
forerunner of the Word of God.

O unfailing intercessor of Christians, O constant mediatress before the Creator,
despise not the cry of prayer of us sinners, but of thy goodness, come speedily to
the help of us who in faith call upon thee. Hasten to offer swift intercession and
prayer for us, O mother of God, who ever intercedest for those who honor thee.

The Prokeimenon in Tone 4
Wondrous is God in His saints, even the God of Israel.
In congregations bless ye God, the Lord from the well-springs of Israel.
The reading is from the epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Hebrews (11:33-
12:2)
Alleluia in Tone 4:
The righteous cried, and the Lord heard them, and He delivered them out of all
their tribulations.
Many are the tribulations of the righteous, and the Lord shall deliver them out
of them all.
Come let us rejoice in the Lord, let us shout with jubilation unto God our
Savior.
Let us come before his countenance with thanksgiving, and with psalms let us
shout in jubilation unto him.

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the highest.
