Rotary valve
Saxlund International has extensive knowledge of rotary valves for different appli-
cations in many industries. Rotary valves are often utilised within ash handling
systems to create an air seal. The valves can be supplied in a number of versions
depending on the operating temperature and the application. Rotary valves are
available in various configurations including carbon and stainless steel bodies,
hardened chrome linings or cast iron and extended bearing housings and stuffing
box seals for temperature protecting and long life.

Rotary valve
To minimize fugitiv dust emissions it is necessary to condition fly ash. This is achieved
using a conditioning screw fitted with complex water spray nozzles. Proper condi-
tioning produces a uniform wetted product of 20-25% moisture content. To ensure
that the ash conditioner works properly it is vital that it recieves a continuous and
even flow of ash. This is achieved by installing the Saxlund International sliding
frame discharger on the ash storage silo to meter the ash flow to the conditioner.
