Reflection Paper # 1

Lessons of life are learned in various circumstances. One of these circumstances is
how a class makes a person think outside of the box. This semester, I decided to take Theatre
Arts because I took it once at my high school and really enjoy every moment I spent in that
class. So I decided to take it at Brooklyn College. I do have a little experience with
performing. I wrote and acting out my monologue and I did a play with four people in my
grade.
My personal goal is leave the class with A and know the techniques of live acting
and how it benefits the world today. I also read that acting helps a person control their
emotions so that will be a good thing for teenagers. To tell you the truth, I dont know how
live theatre is important today but to make a guess I will say to help the audience to get a
inside in depth view of the play and see and feel the actors emotions live and direct.
