State Representatives Nan Baker and Mike Dovilla Applaud Proposed Updates to the Ohio Business Gateway Website will ease challenges of opening and operating small businesses
COLUMBUS State Representatives Nan Baker and Mike Dovilla applauded the Ohio Department of Taxations recent announcement of upgrades to the Ohio Business Gateway, which will be presented for approval in August.
Ohioans who want to open and operate their own small businesses deserve a one-stop website which will provide them timely access to the information they need, said Baker. "We have worked for over five years with numerous stakeholders to make this possible.
During the 129th General Assembly, Representatives Baker and Dovilla introduced House Bill 144, legislation requiring updates to the Ohio Business Gateway. The bill received broad-based support from groups such as NFIB/Ohio, COSE, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and the Associated Food and Petroleum Dealers.
In meeting with many small business owners and hosting numerous business roundtables throughout the 7th House District, we learned that one of the most requested areas of improvement in state governments interaction with small business was the Ohio Business Gateway, said Dovilla. Its well past time to offer Ohios current and aspiring entrepreneurs a modern, user-friendly web portal.
Staunch advocates for Ohios small business, Representatives Baker and Dovilla have introduced numerous pieces of legislation to address the Ohio Business Gateway, including 128-HB383 and 129-HB144.
