Spring into the Square!



Edmonton! On Thursday, May 1
st
, from 6:00-9:00pm, the Edmonton Arts Council will launch the 2014
Happenings daily programming in Sir Winston Churchill Square. The season kicks off with the return of our
Thursday night Cypher Wild featuring DJ Creeasian, just one of the many free events to be offered in the Square
on a weekly basis.

The Edmonton Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, programs activity and event happenings in
Sir Winston Churchill Square for casual and day-to-day public use between major festivals and civic events.
Happenings at Sir Winston Churchill Square features a variety of daily programming between the hours of
11:30am-8:00pm. All activities are offered free to the public either during the lunch hour or in the evening. These
events include:
Zumba and the Churchill Circuit
Tuesday Zoodays
Live music and theatrical performances
Lightsaber Training for kids and adults
and, Thursday nights with Cypher Wild featuring break-dancers and a live DJ.

In addition, the Square offers games of table tennis, basketball, ball hockey, giant checkers, and more! Whether
you are looking for entertainment, an open space to relax, or be a part of the downtown hub, Churchill Square is
the place to find it.

Since August 2011, EAC Churchill Square Programmer Bob Rasko has produced a diverse schedule of
offerings open to the public including: Sunday Swing 'n Skate, Live at Lunch, and Zumba on the Square.
