everyday, and especially on all beach/park days. The kids will be leaving by 9:10 and returning by 3:00 pm.
Washington Administrative Code insists that either all children have freezer packs in their lunch or we must carry portable coolers on
our fieldtrips. We are asking for your support. Please make sure that your child has a freezer pack in their lunch. A frozen water
bottle works great. Thanks for your help.

Breakfast is an important meal. We serve a breakfast snack at Kids Inc. and it
is only for those early morning campers. The children run and play hard. They
need the energy to make it to lunch. Please make sure your child eats a healthy
breakfast at home before coming to camp! Thank you for your cooperation.
Boating Week
The Deep Fried Waffles
(3rd -5th Grades)

A vast, ye scurvy dog! Set your sails for Boating Week at
Kids Inc. As we get our sea legs, we will write messages in
bottles, hunt treasures and craft model boats! We shall provi-
sion ourselves for la long sea journey with hardtack and water
(and enjoy our sweet reward at journeys end with tasty haupia).
We will test our boating prowess on fair Greenlake and practice
survival on a desert island by attempting to crack a coconut!
Armed with snacks and crafts, we will conquer the seas, bay
claim to Jetty Island and rejoice in not actually being stranded
on a deserted island. Looks like we gonna need a bigger boat!

Ocean Bound Week
The Stinky Skunks
(1st, 2nd )

Ahoy Mateys! Be ye a lousy landlubber or a salty sea dog, Kids Inc
is settin sail for adventure and intrigue. Led by Captains Ella "The Red"
Richardson and Sam "No-Beard" Pickel the Stinky Skunks are headed for
high water this week. We'll dip our brushes into some paint as we con-
struct our own boats, then dip our paddles into the Lake Union's fresh
water on a real Umiak! And what's a pirate without a treasure map,
hook hand, and eye patch!? Nothing I tell ye! After our week-long
preparations we set sail for a pirate raid on Jetty Island! Many leagues
to row and fathoms to explore so pack your bags and your imaginations.
Arrrgh!

Hoist your sail and raise anchors because we are heading out
to sea! Its Ocean Bound Week and were learning anything
about Maritime...and then some! We are building boats and
taking sail at Golden Gardens on Wednesday...so dont forget to
pack that swimsuit and towel. During this week we will also
learn the flag semaphore, communicate via flags and create our
own flag. Argh.Matey, we will also have a pirate day, so be
ready to search for treasure. And we will end the week with a
trip to The Center For Wooden Boats. Batten down the hatches
because were going to have a wild week!
