Time for new Gyaan people!!

In the last post, I had shared the description of our Universe and the TWO different types of
Creations. For easy understandin of the descriptions from our !criptures, we"ll now ta#e each
topic individually $einnin with our Gala%y, the Milky Way.
&oom out from 'arth to the (il#y Way
)s you can see from the video a$ove, ours is a Spiral Galaxy containin a Galactic Center, and
various arms radiatin outwards from it, in a spiral fashion.
Our !piral Gala%y
)s mentioned earlier, *uranic literature is full of )stronomical details and our Gala%y is
+uite vividly detailed in ,Chapter 23, Canto 5 of the Bhagvat Puraan}.
When I went throuh the descriptions, I was pleasantly surprised to #now that the Rishis of
yore have descri$ed our ala%y '-)CT./ the way it is descri$ed now $y modern
)stronomers!! 0haavatam compares it with the Kundalini Chakra, the enery source seated at
the $ase of 1uman !pine li#e a coiled serpent. )s a person"s /oic *owers advance, the
2undalini 'nery moves upwards from one Cha#ra to another ultimately leadin the /oi to
complete 'nlihtenment 3ust as was achieved $y Gautam Buddha.

To the students of !cience, this shape may $e familiar as that of the Ben)ene *ing, which
resem$les a !na#e $itin its own tail!! Incidentally the sym$ol is also #nown $y the Gree#s as
+uro&oro! and $y Chinese as the 4raon representin the never5endin cycle of .ife and 4eath,
the different !easons, Time etc.

$"riptural de!"ription of the Gala#y
The 0havatam ives complete details of the various .o#as of the ala%y ivin precise
.OC)TIO7! of the various divine and semi5divine deni8ens of our Gala%y! .et us see what
these locations are and try to find out a useful address or two from the descriptions 9o:
The Galactic Center, is the tail5end of the coiled serpent and is supposed to $e a seat of Immense
*ower and 'nery. )ccordin to the 0haavatam, this Galactic Center is formed $y the ,hruva
-oka.
It is important to note that accordin to modern )stronomy, Galactic Center is made up of very
lare mass and density which scientists $elieve to $e a $uperma!!ive Bla"k .ole. 0lac# 1oles
are the evolutionary end5point of ()!!I;' stars and pac# within themselves the power of
thousands of 7uclear $om$s com$ined!
!upermassive 0lac# 1ole at the Galactic Center
7ow, ,hruva as we #now is the *ole !tar and accordin to 0haavatam, it is supposed to $e
situated riht at the C'7T'< of our Gala%y. )t present, the 7orthern pole star is Polari!, which
lies close to the Celestial 7orth *ole, and is visi$le at the end of the constellation Ursa (inor
=.ittle 4ipper:( 1owever, after researchin its location, I found that this particular !tar does not
lie as far as the Center of the Gala%y and it dampened my e%citement a $it >o=
*resent *ole !tar *olaris
0ut, as I #ept tryin to find out more, I came across a phenomenon #nown as the Pre"e!!ion of
/0uino#e!. !imply put, it states that the role of the 7orth !tar *)!!'! from one star to another.
This means that Other stars have occupied the position of the Pole Star before now!
*recession of the '+uino%es is slow, ta#in a$out ?@,AAB years to complete a cycle, hence a
sinle star typically holds that title for many C'7TU<I'!, and since 1indu history measures
time in $illions of years, One of these stars could have been located in the vicinity of the
Gala"ti" Center at some point in our )ncient 1istory!!
*ole !tars of *ast and Future
Identifyin that !tar is $eyond my current research capacity, $ut I $elieve if we can find it, it
would help us date our !criptures in a more authentic fashion as well as ive us a proof that our
civili8ation is I74''4 very ancient.
The scripture further states that Dhruv-loka is supposed to $e the !upreme !eat of -ord
1i!hnu in the (ortal <ealm where 1e reclines on the 4ivine !erpent Sheshnaag accompanied
$y Goddess -ak!hmi in the Ocean5of5(il# called sheer-Sagar.
4emiods prayin to .ord ;ishnu and Goddess .a#shmi seated on !heshnaa
7ow, 0lac# 1oles have always $een con3ectured to $e portals $etween different Universes, sort
of li#e Gateways to different dimensions. This ma#es me $elieve that our !upermassive5
Galactic5Center50lac#51ole can fit the precondition of $ein the 2&ode of
-ord 1i!hnu ama8inly well, as it would connect 1im with the !piritual <ealm outside as well
as the (aterial realm contained within this Universe!
Moving on from the Gala"ti" Center
7ear the central a$ode of 4hruva resides Pra!"pati, worshiped $y the demiods #gni$ %ndra
and Dhar&a near the tail and the 1oly $aptari!hi Mandal at its waist.
On the riht side of the Celestial Wheel are stationed the fourteen 'ttarayan (akshatras
=7orthern &odiacs: from #bhi!it to Punarvasu$ and on its left side are found fourteen
Dakshinayan (akshatras =!outhern &odiacs: startin from Pushya and endin with 'ttar-
#ashadh.
The $ac# of !hishumar is formed $y stars collectively called #!avithi and its $elly is formed $y
the !acred Ganes reverently #nown as the 2ka!h Ganga.
If you loo# at the clear niht s#y, you"ll o$serve a faint $and of liht stretchin across the
dar#ness, either throuh the middle or near the hori8on which is considered it the sym$olic
representation of the Descent of )eavenly Ganges to the (ortal <ealm of 'arth.
)#ash Gana, the (il#y Way
The stars called Punarvasu and Pushya form the riht and left loins of the !hishumar9 #rdra
and #shlesha form the riht and left feet while #bhi!it and 'ttar-#ashadh form the riht and
left nostrils.
Shravana and Purv-#ashadh form the riht and left eyes respectively9 while *ula and
Dhanishtha form the two ears9 *agha, the roup of 'iht !tars form its ri$s on the left side
while the 'iht stars of *rigashirsha, form the ri$s on its riht. The stars Shatabhish and
+yeshtha form the riht and left shoulders, #gasti forms the upper 3aw and ,a&a, the lower one.
The planet (ars forms its face9 !aturn forms its oran of eneration9 0rihaspati forms the hump
on the shoulders while $urya 5 The .ord of the planets, =which I have ta#en as the reference
point for the .a$elled imae of !hishumar $elow: forms its $reast.
The !upreme -ord 3arayan remains seated in its heart and the (oon is situated in its
mind. The two #shvins form either sides of its chest9 'shana or ;enus forms its navel9 (ercury
is its Prana9 Rahu is the nec# and etu is all over its $ody in the form of different Comet!.
The innumera$le other stars we see are the numerous pores of its $ody. I have tried to la$el the
imae of our Gala%y accordin to the descriptions I have shared in this post. *lease find $elow
the Imae that has resulted from this e%ercise.
Our Gala%y !hishumar
What is astonishin for me is that without access to any form of modern technoloy li#e
the .u&&le $pa"e ele!"ope and its li#e, the Rishis of /ore could still fathom the e%tent and
shape of our Gala%y in such a detailed fashion!
It was only in CDCB, that Galileo used the first telescope and determined that (il#y Way is
formed of $illions of dim stars that surround us. 0efore that, for centuries the astronomers had
struled with the $asic +uestions a$out this $and of liht in the s#y which were difficult to
answer $ecause of several reasons.
+ne, as we live within the (il#y Way, tryin to fathom its dimensions is li#e livin in
one tiny corner of a iantic $o% and analy8in its composition and shape!
$e"ond, the early telescopes weren"t lare enouh and hence did not have sufficient
rane to clearly view the ala%y around us.
4inally, the (il#y Way contains lare amounts of cosmic dust that o$scures distant stars
when we"re usin reular telescopes.
1owever, the ?Bth century $rouht reat advancement in telescope technoloy and lare
+pti"al, *adio, 5nfrared, and 6'ray tele!"ope! allowed )stronomers to peer throuh
the cosmic dust and loo# further into space. With these tools, they could piece toether the
pu88le of our Gala%y"s shape $ut the point to $e emphasi8ed here is that all this $ecame apparent
only after the ?Bth Century!

/et, surprisinly, ancient ;edic rishis had not only descri$ed the shape of the Gala%y, they had

TravelE!E:, I do not #now. 0ut, I hope this post opens the eyes of my readers to a $rand new
perception of these reliious te%ts and would encourae them to analy8e our traditional culture
and $eliefs with a more open and scientific approach.
I will descri$e the various .o#as mentioned a$ove in more detail in su$se+uent postsand will try
to uide you throuh the structure of the Universe as per ancient 1indu !cience. (ay -ord
1i!hnu uide me throuh this 3ourney that I have em$ar#ed upon and help me $rin hidden
truths from our ancient scriptures to fore.
!hri 1ari ;ishnu, help me cross this Cosmic Ocean
It is only fittin that I end the post with the traditional prayer to !upreme .ord ;ishnu residin in
this Coiled Gala%y $hi!humar and also pay my o$eisance to the )ncients who were a$le to
decipher its structure on the $asis of their /oic powers..

Thou art the Substratum of all Luminaries,
Thou Createst and Destroyest all,
The Lord of all Celestials,
