Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested by Phoenix police Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault against his wife and 17-month-old son.
Dwyer is alleged to have head-butted his wife in the face, causing her to sustain a broken nose. Dwyer is also accused of punching his wife and throwing a shoe which struck the couple’s son. In addition, Dwyer’s wife claims that Dwyer threw her cellphone out of a second-story window when she tried to call police to report the assault.
Dwyer is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage, preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault.
