2.Main board layout
#ll connections to the STM32F103RCT6 based main board are done according to this diagram5

6hen connecting any cable 7except ower switch8 to the main board pin 1 on the cable must align
with pin 1 of a corresponding connector on the main board.

3.Controls mini board.
%ontrols mini board contains *p and Down buttons( a $eft9!ight rotary encoder with a built:in $eft
button and an *p9Down rotary encoder with a built:in !ight button.

on the connector but if the $ED doesn<t wor- in one orientation Aust re1erse the connection.

orientation or Aust replaced with a Aumper.

@he rest of input Aac-s are wired to ads connector 1 and ads connector 2 as exampled abo1e using
ads connector pinout.
5.Assembling MegaDrum from the ull kit
1. !emember that all connectors ha1e pin 1 mar-ed as red on the main board layout diagram.
2. 6ire all reBuired input Aac-s 7or any other types of input soc-ets9connectors8 to the ads
connectors cables.
&. %onnect the ads connectors cables to the main board 7ads connector 1 and ads
connector 28 ma-ing sure alignment is correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
). %onnect the %ontrols mini board to the main board 7!otary encoders connector and
,uttons connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
5. %onnect the $ED to the main board 7$ED connector8.
6. %onnect the $%D to the main board 7$%D connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is correct
7pin 1 to wire 18.
0. %onnect M.D. .n9"ut soc-ets to the main board 7M.D. .n9"ut connector8 ma-ing sure
alignment is correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
2. %onnect the ower switch to the main board 7ower switch connector8.
4. %onnect the *+, soc-et to the main board 7*+, connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is
correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
MegaDrum is now ready and can be powered on. "n the first connection to a % all modern "ss
76indows C9=ista90( Mac "+ C( $inux8 will detect MegaDrum and automatically install reBuired
dri1ers.
!.Assembling MegaDrum from the "asic kit
1. !emember that all connectors ha1e pin 1 mar-ed as red on the main board layout diagram.
2. 6ire all reBuired input Aac-s 7or any other types of input soc-ets9connectors8 to the ads
connectors .D% soc-ets.
&. %onnect the ads connectors cables to the main board 7ads connector 1 and ads
connector 28 ma-ing sure alignment is correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
). 6ire buttons and diodes according to the ,uttons diagram and connect to the main board
7,uttons connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
5. %onnect the $ED to the main board 7$ED connector8.
6. %onnect the $%D to the main board 7$%D connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is correct
7pin 1 to wire 18.
0. %onnect the ower switch to the main board 7ower switch connector8.
2. %onnect the *+, soc-et to the main board 7*+, connector8 ma-ing sure alignment is
correct 7pin 1 to wire 18.
MegaDrum is now ready and can be powered on. "n the first connection to a % all modern "ss

#.Assembling MegaDrum from the Minimal kit
@he Minimal -it contains only a fully soldered and programmed main board. Dou will need to
source all other external components elsewhere and do all the wiring according to the diagrams
shown in the %onnectors pinouts. #fter that the assembling is the same as for the ,asic -it.
