Wow, I will have to send this link on to relatives. My grandfather was James Britton Morgan, his father was John Manley Morgan, and John Manley's father was John Wesley Morgan, John Wesley's parents were John and Adeline/Adaline Todd.
Looking for information on John and Virginia Waite Scott born 1823 AL and 1832 SC. They lived in the area but mostly in Pontotoc,MS. They had children William James, Martha A., Sarah Rebecca Judith, and John Calvin. Thanks, Iris
I can't believe I found this! Arlis and Johnnie Morgan Clark were my husbands great grandparents. We have even been to a family reunion at Thorn.

Sorry for a second post. My mother's family grew up in Vardaman and attended Vardaman schools. A lot of the family names mentioned in are familiar to me from being mentioned by my maternal grandmother, Clytie Parish. Her husband, my grandfather, was Charlie Parish.
The Mr. Wooldridge of Thorn, Ms, mentioned on page 80, is, I think, my paternal grandfather, Ed Wooldridge. My father's family were raised in Thorn and attended schools there.

I discovered my nephew's entire Hardin line back to John and Gilla Hardin. Very pleased to find this book....especially online.
