In this task, you are going to express habit in the past.

2. Read the next text, it is called the way we were. What did the girl use to do? Express habit in the past with all
the actions she used to do.
 Molly Hornby 
Molly Hornby was a young girl in the 1960s. Read what she says about it.

“I was a young girl in the 1960s. My friends and I used to do a lot of things which shocked our
parents. We used to do things our mothers never did. We used to cut our hair, we used to wear
short skirts, we used to smoke, and we used to go to dancing. We used to dance to the music of
Elvis Presley and the Beatles. We also got the chance to see the Beatles live at a concert once. It
was amazing. My father used to fish once a week. He always wished that I would accompany
him, but fishing was not my cup of tea.  Instead my friends and I used to go for picnics in the
surrounding area quite often. My boyfriend had a car, a 1960 Ford Falcon, so he always used to
pick us up and we often used to drive to Brighton. We used to go to the movies twice a week
and I loved to watch films with Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor, especially the ‘Reflections
in a Golden Eye’ starring both of them. I still love to watch this film. It’s my favourite. I can
remember it all so clearly.”

“Yo era una niña en la década de 1960. Mis amigos y yo solíamos hacer muchas cosas
que sorprendieron a nuestros padres. Solíamos hacer cosas que nuestras madres nunca
hacían. Solíamos cortarnos el pelo, vestíamos faldas cortas, solíamos fumar y solíamos ir
a bailar. Solíamos bailar con la música de Elvis Presley y los Beatles. También tuvimos la
oportunidad de ver a los Beatles en vivo en un concierto una vez. Fue increíble. Mi
padre solía pescar una vez a la semana. Siempre deseó que lo acompañara, pero pescar
no era mi taza de té. En cambio, mis amigos y yo solíamos ir de picnic en los alrededores
con bastante frecuencia. Mi novio tenía un automóvil, un Ford Falcón de 1960, así que
siempre solía recogernos y solíamos conducir a Brighton. Solíamos ir al cine dos veces
por semana y me encantaba ver películas con Marlon Brando y Elizabeth Taylor,
especialmente los "Reflejos en un ojo dorado" protagonizados por ambos. Todavía me
encanta ver esta película. Es mi favorito. Puedo recordarlo todo tan claramente.
