VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
FIELD NURSE - AH MAR
6 months contract
Position: Field Nurse
Place: Pyapon Township
Closing date: 25th October 2009

1/ General conditions

Médecins du Monde - France is a French humanitarian organization, involved in a long term program in the field of
HIV/AIDS prevention in Myanmar and currently implementing an outreach Community Health Workers program in
Pyapon township.

The Nurse works under the supervision and the responsibility of the Project Officer.

2/ Duties description

The nurse is part of a project aiming at increasing access to Primary Health Care and increasing knowledge and
awareness on health issues of the rural population of Pyapon township. He/she:

 Performs Health Education Sessions in the communities

 Trains and supervises Community Health Workers in Primary Health Care, like:

 Prevention

 Health Education Sessions

 Consultation and pharmacy management

 Manages and controls the supply of drugs and equipment to Community Health Workers

 Manages and controls the collection of data of the Community Health Workers

 Contributes to monitoring and evaluation reports

The nurse will be based in Ah Mar sub-township, but he/she performs her activities for 90% of the time in remote
communities and will be asked to attend regular meeting in MdM office in Pyapon.

3/ Requested skills
 Nursing Diploma or degree in Public Health (e.g. Health assistant) or midwife

 Motivation, dynamism, good communication skills

 Autonomy, organization and flexibility

 Specific interest in primary health care

 Previous working experience in primary health care would be advantageous

 Ability to live in basic conditions in the field
