Helen Cavazos Frank J, Wilson Pagel of 2 Vice President of Human Resources & Diversity President & Chief Executive Officer METRO employees are required to acknowledge in writing that they have read, understand and will comply with ‘MBTRO’s Conflict of Interest Policy atthe time of ther initial employment, Any violation of METRO’s Conflict of Interest Policy will subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and inoluding termination of employment. GENERAL PROVISIONS All METRO employees must reftain from any uso of their official position for private gain for themselves, METRO employees shall not directly or indirectly use METRO property of eny kind for other than officially approved activities. METRO employees shill not accept or solicit any money, property, service or other thing of value by way of gif favor, loan, entertainment, accommodations, transportation or otherwise which the employee knows is being offered or given with the intent of influencing their discharge of official duties in favor of any financial interest, (Acceptance of modest food, refreshment, and local transportation while on official business is permitted.) ‘METRO employees shall not receive any gift or other thing of value in excess of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) from a person, business entity, or other organization contracting with or having any other business relationship with METRO. METRO employees shall not engage in any business or other activity that might tend to impair independence of judgement in the discharge of official duties, Outside employment or other outside activity is incompatible with the full and proper discharge of an employee's duties and responsibilities and is prohibited if * It would give rise to a real or apparent conflict of interest situation even though no violation of specific statutory provisions was involved; #Itwould involve work with any contractor or subcontractor who is connected with any work being performed for METRO; © Itwould involve use of the employee's time during their official working hours; + It would be of such extent or nature as to interfere with the efficient performance of the employee's METRO duties, or impair their mental or physical capacity to perform them in an acceptable manner, aT METROPOLITAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY POLICY Pager of 2 Ref.No.36 ‘Tide: Confct of interest EffectiveDaie | Revision Date SOBs 0/109, * It would involve use of information obtained as a result of METRO employment which is not freely available to the general public; or + It would involve the violation of a federal or state statute, municipal ordinance, executive order or regulation to which the employee is subject, METRO employees shall not engage in any outside employment without first securing approval, in writing, from their division director. Division vice president and director must obtain administrative approval of the President & CEO or his/her designee(s) before engaging in outside employment, METRO prohibits an employee's participation in any METRO decision in which they have direct or indirect personal financial interest, An employee whose participation in a pending decision is prohibited because of personal interest shall notify their supervisor in writing prior to any consideration of the matter, Iitustrative of the types of matter in which METRO employees commonly participate and which may fall within the prohibitions described are the following: the solicitation, negotiation, administration or auditing of contracts or agreements; + the selection or approval of contractors or known subcontractors under & METRO contract; ‘© project monitoring, METRO may not enter into any contract (other than a contract subject to competitive bids) with any business employing or represented by a person who has been within the preceding 12-month period an employee of METRO ifthe contract relates to a matter for which the eraployes had responsibility while representing METRO, To climinate unftir competitive advantage, former METRO employees are excluded from competing. for procurements in which they pasticpated in developing Request for Proposals, Invitation to Bid, Contec Drawings, ‘Technical Specifications, Statements of Work and /or Scope of Service, sarnoonsz
