RE: RESULTS OF DEMOCKRASYA (DLSU-D MOCK ELECTIONS)
Pax vobiscum!
Last February 1 to March 5, 2010, the NSTP-CWTS Voter's Education classes, the University
Student Council, and the Pre-Law Society conducted a month-long activity entitled
“DEMOCKRASYA”,
At this month long activity, students of NSTP-CWYS Voter's Education Program had room to
room campaign for 15 minutes at different classes on how to vote responsibly during the 2010
automated national elections. It was followed by mock elections where registered voter-students
gt the feel of actual voting using the shading process
Consistent to the goal of the activity to determine the pulse of the whole Lasallian community as
to whom they shall vote on 2010 elections, DEMOCKRASYA also reached the faculty and the
staff sectors. Staff and faculty members also cast their votes.
‘Those who participated in the mock elections were reminded about the requisites in order for
their votes to be valid, to wit:
+ Voters have to fill atleast 50 percent, if not completely, the vote will not be counted.
+ “Over voting” or filling more ovals than the particular positions being contested would
also render the vote invalid.
+ Incase of an error, crossing out the oval would not help.
+ Putting.a check in the oval will also render the vote invalid
+ -Tampered ballots will not be read.
The same shall also be observed during the 2010 elections.
‘The number of voters per sector who actually voted is as follows: 1,373 students, 232 faculty
‘members and 123 staff. In sum, there are 1, 728 voters. The percentage on the graphs attached is
based on these numbers.
Now, the Lasallian community has spoken. Attached are the official results of DEMOCKRASYA
for the positions of President, Vice President, and 12 Senators.
Thank you so much,
