9-12th Grades

2. Create and publish an online art gallery with examples and
commentary that demonstrate an understanding of different
historical periods, cultures, and countries. (1,2)

 Each student will create a blog where they will be

able to upload PowerPoints, by using the free online
tool Scribd, which contain the art of one artist of
their choosing from one of the major periods of art,
as well as commentary about the art and artist.
3. Select digital tools or resources to use for a real-world task
and justify the selection based on their efficiency and
effectiveness. (3,6)

 The students will have to create an iGoogle account

and make use of at least four different features of
Google. Some examples would be Google Docs,
Google Maps, Google Books, Google Groups, etc. in
order to complete a project about the historical
period we would be studying in my history or social
studies class. This would be a collaborative project
and students could work online together and on
their own.
5. Identify a complex global issue, develop a systematic plan of
investigation, and present innovative sustainable solutions.
(1,2,3,4)

 Students will have to research a current issue in

our world, such as environmental degradation,
children soldiers, or the crisis in Darfur, and try
their best to come up with the important facts and
possible solutions. They will have to write an
outline with their facts and solutions to turn into
me, but they will have to create either a
PowerPoint presentation, a movie, or online tool
such as http://www.primaryaccess.org/ to teach
their class about their topic.
8. Model legal and ethical behaviors when using information
and technology by properly selecting, acquiring, and citing
resources. (3,5)

 Students will be writing papers and creating

PowerPoint assignments. They will have to cite
sources from reliable internet sites (i.e, the National
Archives, not Wikipedia). As their teacher, I would
explain how to cite sources, especially from the
internet where it is harder to find sources again, or
know who they are written by.
