Key questions for A2 Evaluation

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?

2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?

Take 9 frames from other short films that show the conventions of
short films and analyse them. Next, take 9 frames from your short film
and analyse them to show what conventions you used or challenged.
The 9 frames should cover these points:

-genre

-twist to the story

-central protagonist

- Camera angles

-small number of characters

-voiceovers

-music

-real life

Next write a couple of paragraphs about a short film that inspired you
and why – remember to explain whether it conforms or challenges
conventions.

Script a voiceover to your short film (like a DVD commentary)- play

some of your short film and analyse the effect of the editing and filming
techniques you used. Secondly, film your poster and add a voiceover
explaining how it would advertise your short film. Lastly, explain how
your radio trailer would draw in audiences – remember to discuss your
target audience and show your script for marking before recording.

Write a blog entry analysing the feedback you got from the following
places:
-youtube/ vimeo (you will need to get friends and family to post on
there and then also to screen grab comments.)

- In Class feedback

- target audience feedback (show questionnaires that you created and

then you get filled out and then ensure that analyse the results.)

Then explain what you changed and why.

Preferably take images of you using them! Explain what you have learnt
