I bet you're wondering, "Wow, you mean I can really have or be anything
I want? You mean that my life can be anything I want it to be?"
I believe that most people have forgotten how to believe that anything is
possible for them. They have taken comfort in believing that other people
can have the life that they dream about, but have forgotten that as
individuals that they too can have a dream for themselves. It's frustrating
and sad because most people have forgotten to dream. After years of
deciding that my dreams were no longer relevant and believing that the Advertise
time and space to achieve them had long past, I was laid off from my job
as a medical writer. Years had gone by and I truly had forgotten how to
dream. As I walked out the doors of the company I had worked for the
last time, I truly felt free! Slowly I began to dream again. It seemed like
the worst time for all of this to happen and the most inconceivable time
for me to have faith in something so illusive - but I did. My husband,
Milton, and I had faith that all would be well with us and our family. We
believed that we would finally be able to do all of the things like take a
vacation, start a company, and work a flexible schedule that would allow
us the freedom to spend time with our children and with each other.

The Possibilities were infinite. As we began to gain clarity and perception
around these dreams, we gained a Second Sight into our future and our "NOW"
because we stopped listening to all of the outside voices and began to go within.
My husband started a gratitude ritual every morning where he wrote down all of
the things for which he was grateful. Our children, Alexzandria and Evan, made
vision boards, meditated, and prayed. I watched and read The Secret almost
non-stop, made a vision board, meditated, and prayed. Several months after
unpacking some boxes, I ran across my vision board. On my vision board, I had
a lot of magazine cut-outs about words. There was one cut-out that said Healing
Words and another said Good Words. It struck me that I had created healing and
good words in a space called The Infinite Field Magazine. As if thru some
beautiful alchemy, I had tapped into an infinite field which was filled with
powerful and amazing possibilities that were as vast as the stars in the sky. I had
learned to tap into the magic of the universe with a simple dream.
You too have this power. You can tap into this power at any time. It all truly

ACCEPTING THE
GOOD
by Rev Celeste A. Frazier
I know that none of you are control freaks out there (RIGHT!), so you may
not have the issue of letting go. You wonder why God hasn’t answered
your prayer and it’s because you haven’t let go of your attachment to the
outcome. As Buddha told us, attachment leads to suffering. Got it, Bodhi?
Now, Release is what we must do. I release my word into the Law, the
responsive Universe that has, as Its nature, no choice but to say “yes.”
And so It is. Amen.
Rev. Celeste was trained as a practitioner and minister at Agape International Spiritual Center and the Holmes Institute, the
school of ministry for the United Church of Religious Science. A published poet and essayist, a produced playwright and
screenwriter, Celeste loves creativity and writes intuitively. In the last ten years of her life, she has focused on more spiritual
writing which encompasses everything from newsletters and daily inspirational guides to web blogs. She has contributed to The
Science of Mind magazine and Agape International Spiritual Center’s Inner Visions publications and is a contributing writer for
the Common Peace website: www.nonviolenceworks.com. Her book, “In Spirit, In Love” is available on the web at sites

HONORING THE (BENEVOLENT)
WARRIOR WITHIN
by Jeff Brown
At the same time, I bow down to the noble efforts we have made to create
a better world. I honor my Grandfather, who risked his life in World War
Two to protect the world I would be born into. I honor my Grandmother
who held the family together under onerous circumstances. I honor the
Warrior spirit that built the railroads, the cities, the bridges that bring us
into contact with one another. I honor those who worked like dogs, who
died in the trenches, who did everything they could to establish the
foundation that I stand on in my efforts to go higher. But for them, this
blog would not even enter my consciousness. I would be foraging through
the brush, knife in hand, attempting to find food to feed my family and
fuel my survival. Praise to those well intentioned Warriors who came
before. Praise to the Divine Father.
As with everything we do, the key to our actions is the intention behind
our actions. Intention, intention, intention. The Warrior is not the
problem- the sourcespring is the problem: What is motivating our
decision to act? Is our edge emanating from a soulful sourcespring or are
we disconnected from the taproot? Are we making a conscious decision to
assert ourselves or are we unconsciously directed? Are we fueled by
congealed rage or a heightened intention? Civilized humans or barbaric
beasts?
TheInfiniteFieldMagazine.com 16
I think of the Warrior much like I think of the mind. When the mind's doings are directed by our highest intentions, it
is a magnificent and constructive tool. One begins to think of ways to honor our callings and to elevate humanity. Yet
when it is driven by primitive patterning and old tapes, it is self-destructive and soul-distractive. I remember when I
first crossed over from poverty to a measure of material comfort in my life. Instead of shifting my mind's focus from
survival to the next step in my evolution, I remained trapped in the worry mind, jumping from one neurotic tree top
to another, fueled by the memory of prior realities. Although I objectively knew my life had changed, I didn't feel it,
because I was still back there, trapped in the monkey mind and his fixation on survival. When I finally did feel the
shift, I began to utilize my mind to actualize the next stage of my inner evolution, to express and humanifest my
highest callings. It was all a question of where I was moving from.
To get to the world as it ought to be from the world as it is, we need the benevolent Warrior within. We need his
energy and his focus to develop and utilize our inner tools. We need his clarifying sword to distinguish false-path
from true-path. We need his courage to fight for our right to the light, to push us to adventure beyond our habitual
range of e-motion and try other ways of being on for size. Like swashbucklers of the spirit, we bravely seek out any
experience that might inform our path and determinedly participate in our own revealing. In Soulshaping, I call it
shtuscle- inner muscle, the soul driven determination to overcome whatever obstacles come our way. Without
shtuscle and lots of it, we're not getting home.
In 2009, I invite you to honor the benevolent Warrior that lives inside you. Acknowledge the ways he has already
helped you to survive and reach this stage of your journey. Applaud his efforts to awaken you when you fall asleep.
Give breath to his desire to take you higher up the Mountain of Consciousness. Honor the white flag at the heart of
his feisty nature. The Dude loves you.
Happy New Year to Benevolent Warriors everywhere. There is much work to be done on sacred battlegrounds before
we can evaporate into Essence. Souldier on....

Minute Meditation
By Susan Marek
This meditation may be used at any time to assist you in remembering your divine connection. I encourage you to
first call on your angels and guides to be at hand and to provide a comfortable, loving presence during your
meditation. You may also find it helpful to record these words in your own voice and play it back during meditation.
I recommend you perform this meditation sitting comfortably on the floor or in a chair.
Close your eyes. Rest your hands gently on your lap in a comfortable
position. Take a deep breath. Inhale through your nose, letting the
breath flow easily and effortlessly into your lungs. Exhale slowly,
allowing your breath to gently flow upward and out through your
mouth.
Relax deeper into yourself as you take another breath, again letting it
effortlessly flow in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Allow yourself to receive this unconditional love with gratitude. Allow yourself to remember this divine
connection. Notice how your energy interacts with the divine energy coming from the grid. You
understand that this energy exchange is a gift. Affirm your connection by saying, "I am ONE with All that
IS. I am LOVE. I am Light. I AM."
You body begins to feel heavier as you come back into your body. You have not lost your divine connection.
It is strong and still pulsing with love and energy. You can see this golden cord whenever you want by
closing your eyes and seeing it through your mind's eye.
When you are ready, take one last deep breath and feel the energy flowing through your body as you gently
come back into the room and continue with your day. Enjoy!

According to
The Law of Attraction… Parents bring children into this world
Oh sure, parents think it’s cute when little Susie says she is going to
grow up to be an astronaut, or Johnny says he is going to become a
rock star! For a while, some parents will even encourage their
children’s imaginations.
Of course, parents do this from a place of love, intending to protect their children from possible disappointment. But
in all actuality, what they have done is sent a message to their child that says there are limits
to what can and probably will happen in your life!
Children begin life with an amazing ability to see themselves doing anything they want to
do, becoming whoever they want to be…anything is possible! Their imaginations fuel their
thoughts, and they believe their thoughts until they are told there are limits!
And in our current society, which has been blessed with an abundance of knowledge in the
area of self-growth, we have come full circle.

It's Time To Take Your Life In her book THE RIGHT QUESTIONS,
author Debbie Ford titles the second
We have all heard the term "Think globally, act locally". What this means to me is that in order to
affect positive change in our world we must first begin with ourselves. To personalize this idea I
would like to ask you these questions: Do you remember everything that you put into your body
yesterday? Conversely, do you remember everything that came out of your mouth...do you recall the
manner in which you chose to speak to and treat every person
with whom you have had contact? Do you remember the
moment you thought about (or avoided thinking about) doing
your exercise program and the action you took (or didn't take)
to follow through? Do you recall the day you made the choice
to go to college or not to, to buy or sell a home or not to, to
have children or not to, to take or leave a job or not to, or enter
or exit a relationship or not to? From the seemingly
commonplace choices we make daily to the colossal once in a
lifetime choices we make, they all have one thing in common;
they define who we believe ourselves to be. Another way to
look at it might be to say that irrespective of the degree, every
choice we make leads us closer to, or further away, from being
the person we desire to be. The more conscious we are in the
choices we make, the clearer we are on who we are. That's
how powerful is our freedom to choose.
Most importantly, work diligently at creating space for the loving Presence of God within to be revealed and
then listen...you will know what choice to make.

Dennis is a universal speaker who is equally comfortable speaking to an audience seeking spiritual
inspiration or to those seeking a purely secular motivational message that moves people toward

Your Sacred Garden
By Janice Schneider Girgenti, D.D., HCCP
L
ift your spirit this spring and begin by
planning your new sacred garden.
Imagine your space filled with birds,
butterflies, bunnies, and other critters
that may choose your garden and the positive
chi you create. This cozy garden can serve
you and others well by providing a meditation
space, herbs for cooking and healing, and a
place to calm yourself from the stress of
everyday living.
The tree represents the human self: the roots are our soul that sustains life,
the trunk is our heart connecting heaven and earth, and the crown is our
spirit reaching up towards the future. A pond or pool provides a focal
point and enhances your wealth. It integrates heaven and earth in it's
reflection. The pond might also help you take note of the changes in
nature and provide soothing sounds if you choose a fountain or waterfall
feature. Stones and rocks are strong and silent. They represent mountains
and islands. Rocks might also be used to provide a focal point and help
center or “ground” the energy of your space.
Other garden features like the" green man" help to remind us of our
spiritual connection. Wind chimes are lovely and can enhance and shift
the chi. Invite animals with feeders to bring more life-giving chi to your
space. Perhaps a butterfly bush will bring about the beauty and color of
these winged creatures, which represent transformation.

What Is Holding YOU Back From YOUR Infinite
Possibilities & How Can You Make Course Corrections?
We live in a very abundant world - a world FULL of Infinite Possibilities! I find by Debbie Ruston
very often though that people are so busy just "surviving", they can't see the
possibilities around them.
I could go on and on, but that is far too depressing! These are the types of things
that many of us heard growing up. Depending on your network of co-workers,
family and friends - people you spend most of your time with - some of you may
still be hearing these type of phrases (and hundreds of others) and actually believe
them - because you don't know any different.
This type of thinking is what is stopping you from living an extraordinary life - a
life FULL of infinite possibilities. Limited beliefs of what you are capable of, past
conditioning, thinking in terms of survival rather than how abundant this world is,
and how capable YOU are of achieving anything you desire - these thoughts are
holding you back from living into your greatness, your full potential of infinite
possibility!
But, you can CHANGE your thoughts. You CAN reprogram your thinking and
eliminate the doubts, fears, anxiety, or limitations you have had in the past.
However, you must WANT to change your thinking and you must work at it. Our
brains will believe anything we say to ourselves - good or bad. And it is 100% your
CHOICE what you put into your brain.
Debbie :)

What is Spiritus - The Spiritual Marketing Directory?
My name is Shelagh Jones, and I want to tell you a little about how Spiritus - the Spiritual Marketing Directory, came
to be created.
Business Promotion
First, being involved in internet marketing myself, I was a member of several social networking sites, where the prime
intention was to relationship with other people.
But behind this intention was another intention, the intention to attract people to my business. And sometimes this
secondary intention got in the way of the first intention, and I began to think to myself - What if there was a business
directory where people could openly and cleanly promote their business to like-minded people?
A second place was from my work with small businesses, helping them to build their list of customers.
A common cry was - I wish I could find more customers who are just like me. People who have the same values, who
think like me about how to live a life, how to run a business, how to have business interactions work out to the best
advantage of all involved.
And often I would introduce suppliers to customers and see a business relationship flourish because of the shared
values of the people involved.
A third place was meeting people who were operating in industries which have a poor reputation for customer service -
but who were choosing to do things differently, to do what felt right and good to them, not what everyone else was
doing.
I thought - what if there was a place where people looking for a company in that industry could find out about the
values of businesses, about what motivated them, before starting a business relationship with them?
Out of these three ideas, Spiritus - the Spiritual Marketing Directory was born.

I’m Not Participating In The Recession
by Adeeb Shabazz
None of us can likely count the enormous amount of people who complain about the recession we are
in, and blame it for failures in their lives ranging from A to Z. This general complaint has become a war
cry of nearly every individual and family with serious challenges. I make no slight of the challenges
people face, for I too have faced them and continue to face them; however there is a distinct difference
between myself and those who think like me and those who have actually embraced this idea of “The
Great Recession”. The difference is that I have refused to participate in the recession. On the surface
this may seem over-simplistic, mocking, and perhaps even juvenile. However, on closer introspection
you will find that there are common practices, habits and language amongst those participating in the
recession.
TheInfiniteFieldMagazine.com 30
Those who have been convinced that this recession is a hard-fast reality
have taken the position that the economy is bad, therefore they have given
up on advancing in business: businesses stopped advertising; banks
stopped lending; and most of all, outlooks are bleak. Now I am a realist
and am not going to tell you that there is no recession, because I know
there is. What I am going to say is that I am not participating and you do
not have to either if it is not your choice. What those participating in the
recession do not realize is that change is inevitable, and resisting change
causes stagnation, which has resulted in this recession in the first place.
Stale advertising and marketing strategies, old lending practices, and
staunch individualism can only lead to decay. The way people get their
news, watch their shows, listen to their music, shop for their goods, and
communicate with people across the country and across the globe has
changed dramatically in the past 10 years. First, ask yourselves the
following questions: How much do we rely on a cell phone compared to
10 years ago? How much do we communicate by email compared to 10
years ago? How much do we shop online compared to 10 years ago? The
answers to these questions and questions like them will begin to illustrate
to you how our own world has changed so dramatically, and set us on a

that we know better, will we do better? Large corporations
and small businesses alike that do not adapt to these
changes and instead attempt to stick to old and outworn
practices will perish, and evidence shows that many have
already. Likewise, those individuals who do not adapt to change will suffer from the symptoms of the recession at
home. We live in a rapidly changing world and a rapidly changing universe, and if we do not adapt we then feel the
pangs of decay in our life.
The bottom line is that we must be flexible like a palm tree in today’s economy,
because the tall oaks of the 20th Century’s economy are cracking and falling as these
great winds of change are sweeping through the world. Those digging in their heels and refusing to change will not
succeed in today’s world, because the largest shift since the Industrial Revolution is taking place and taking hold.
Being highly observant, documenting and responding to consumer trends will be vital to the survival and success of
any individual or corporation. Knowing these things, and knowing that we actually do have a choice whether to
participate in the recession is more than half the battle won, while finding your niche and applying these principles
wins the rest of the battle. With that said, will you continue to participate in the recession, or will you bend with the
winds of change and prosper?

Tortellini & Spinach Salad
This salad is a sure crowd-pleaser. Folks are so happy with the
tortellini that they don’t realize the dish is loaded with spinach.
Even the known finicky healthy-food-phobic members of my family
gave this dish a thumbs-up at our last family reunion. I suggest
using a mushroom tortellini to limit the fattier cheese variety.

2. Drain water from pasta and place it in a very large bowl.
3. Add the onion, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives.

your environment with the following ideas. Use them to help you ‘go
green' in your own life and enjoy both positive initial effects as well as
the joy of knowing you are creating positive ripple effects in the larger
community of humanity.

10 PERSONAL WAYS TO GO GREEN THIS SPRING
1. Go green in the kitchen. Eat more veggies, especially the deeply colored ones. You can find lots of
recipes online to help you incorporate veggies into your diet if you don’t like eating them plain. While
you’re at it, buy more organic produce when possible. The investment in your health is well worth it,
and organic produce is getting more affordable and available all the time.
2. If you’re really ready for a change and want to feel healthier and lighter, investigate juicing, eating
raw foods, going vegetarian and/or various fasts. Give your digestive tract a break by eating lighter
with any of the methods above, and you’ll feel the positive effects almost immediately. As with any
dietary change, always do your research and speak with a professional dietician, nutritionist and/or
your physician. Note that by eating less animal products, you will also reduce your carbon footprint.
See Discovery’s PlanetGreen for more information on this important topic worthy of consideration.
3. Buy fresh herbs and keep them on your windowsill or balcony. By doing this, you can easily add a
little fresh greenery to many of your dishes as well as sandwiches, soups and more. This adds a big
boost of vitamins and antioxidants.
4. Plant a tree with your kids, or spread some wildflower seeds in a garden bed. You can also add
more plants to your home environment which will improve the oxygen ratio as well as act as a filter
for some of the airborne toxins in your home.
5. Speaking of toxins, have your drinking water checked by your local authorities. Recent studies have
found that, “Public water supplies in 42 U.S. states are contaminated with 141 unregulated chemicals
for which the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has never established safety standards.” This is
according to a recent investigation by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). You can find more
information about this study as well as many other important issues which affect your health at
http://www.ewg.org/ourwater. You may also wish to invest in a water filter and an air filter for your
home. The air you breathe and the water you drink are often far more contaminated than you realize,
and protecting yourself with the most pure air and water within reason is always a good bet.
7. While we’re talking about polluting vehicles, get rid of your clunker, and
buy a hybrid or a more fuel efficient car. Maybe you could carpool or
take public transport more often. Let’s all be cognizant of our carbon
footprint and take steps to lessen it.
8. Replace items in your home which contain harsh chemicals with more
natural, healthy versions. Everything from house cleaners to make-up and
lotions seems to contain substances which are harmful to us these days.
Other options do exist, however, and your lungs, your skin and the
environment will all benefit from more natural, healthier alternatives.
9. Get your kids involved in the community. By getting out, you will not
only help in raising more conscious, aware kids, you’ll also likely save
energy as the TV and other electronics get a break from regular use. In
every community, there are many, many ways to get involved, from team
sports to library and community events as well as charity work.
10. Invest in a green company. Make your investments count for more
than just profit; you can be part of the wave of positive change we need
by putting your money into companies which stand for integrity with
respect to the environment and ethics. Take a stand, and make your
financial vote count!

Infinite
Possibilities
Like me, you may know Mike Dooley from
The Secret. However, he is also the author of
several best-selling books including Thoughts
Become Things and Infinite Possibilities and
the founder and CEO Adventurer
of TUT which stands for Totally Unique
Thoughts®. Mike Dooley is an international
speaker, adventurer, best-selling author, and
millionaire. Not bad for a guy who believes
in infinite possibilities and that thoughts can
become things!
Synolve:
On the jacket flap of your book are written these words: “We are spiritual beings filled with infinite potential -
adventuring through a filed of possibilities, creating our own reality, our own fate, and our own luck." Can you tell me
a little more about these words that you wrote?
Mike:
I try to get my readers on to a stage of understanding the truth about the nature of reality first. Without understanding
reality and understanding who we really are there's no way you can have full power and live deliberately and
consciously. So, basically this is alluding to the fact that we are spiritual beings, we are creators, we chose to be here.
There is no 50-50 option for survival. The stage is set for our inevitable success. We are born to thrive. It's
understanding these truths that unlock the potential and the
possibility. Not understanding them puts us back in the caves and giving away our power to fate, circumstances, "God",
karma, spiritual contracts and stuff that need not take away from our power.
Synolve:
One of the quotes that you use in the book is: "Know ye not that ye are gods." This is my favorite thing to know. In
your opinion, why is it important for people to know this truth?
Mike:
It goes straight to the truth of my message about who we really are and what our heritage is. We are, not metaphorically
speaking, we are the eyes and the ears of God come alive in the jungles of time and space. To be clear, these are our
jungles of time and space that we created. We put time and space here so that we could have adventure. And it's sadly
been taught a million other ways even though gems like this quote were given to us unadulterated thousands of years
ago. Yet, religions come along and people come along and try to interpret, twist, tie down, regulate, and subjugate the
meaning to these things. People do not get that quote as being literally true and yet it's pulled straight from the Bible. I
like pulling quotes from the Bible because I was raised in a religious family. We were raised Catholic. It comforts me to
see how the truths that I was taught as a boy are universal truths which are common for every religion, culture, and
every person. I think my readers are also comforted when scriptures are used because many of my readers come from
traditional religious backgrounds all over the world.

’m a psychiatrist and intuitive in Los Angeles. What
I do isn’t my job. It’s my life’s passion. With patients
and in workshops, I listen with my intellect and my
intuition, a potent inner wisdom that goes beyond the
literal. I experience it as a flash of insight, a gut
feeling, a hunch, a dream. By blending intuition with
orthodox medical knowledge I can offer my patients
and workshop participants the best of both worlds.
Now, listening to intuition is sacred to me, but
learning to trust it has taken years. I’ve described the
details in my memoir Second Sight which is meant to
assure anyone whoever thought they were weird or
crazy for having intuitive experiences, that they are
not! This brief synopsis gives you a good sense of
the book.
Luckily, I’ve had many angels in human form who’ve pointed me to my true
calling as physician. In the sixties I got heavily involved with drugs in an
attempt to block my intuitions out—not something I’m recommending to you!
Following a nearly fatal car accident at age sixteen when I tumbled over a
treacherous 1500 foot cliff in Malibu Canyon, my parents forced me to see a
psychiatrist. This man was the first person who ever “saw” me--not who he
wanted me to be, but who I was. He taught me to begin to value the gift of
intuition, and referred me to Dr. Thelma Moss, a intuition researcher at the
UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. She was to become my mentor and guide to
developing my intuitive side.
The irony was, that during my medical training I strayed far from the intuitive
world again. Traditional psychiatry equates visions with psychosis. Working in
the UCLA emergency room, I’d keep seeing psychotics who were wheeled in
screaming, strapped to gurneys, accompanied by cops with billy clubs. These
patients professed to hear God and to be able predict things. They also felt their
food was poisoned, and that the FBI was on their tail. No one tried to sort
through this mishmash of claims. Typically, patients would shot up with with
Thorazine, hospitalized on lock-down inpatient units until their “symptoms”
subsided. Seeing this so many times I doubted whether it was safe or appropriate
to integrate my intuitions in medicine.

Color In You
Living in the Pacific Northwest the Winter season can sometimes be
lacking in color. I know this to be true because when Spring comes
around, the contrast is revealed with massive amounts of colors
blooming everywhere in sight! This feels good that I even associate
color with the choices I make related to the foods I eat. From Spring to
Summer when the sunshine is out on a more consistent schedule, you
may notice people lathering up with carcinogenic (cancer-generating)
goo, also known as sunscreen.
Somehow large quantities of people were sold the idea that the Sun,
which supports all life on Earth, somehow singled out humans and causes cancer. if you’re going to be out in
the intense sun for long periods of time there are things you can do which nourish while protecting.
Externally, you can use coconut oil and cacao butter which we can validate by looking to South Pacific
Islanders who have been practicing this for many years. What really works well is to protect yourself from the
Sun from the inside out. How? Berries and other foods such as Tocotrienols which are a potent anti-oxidant
specific for fat cells. The anti-oxidant properties of berries are due to what? Color. When sunlight enters our
body through our skin which is engorged with blood filled capillaries, this light reflects off the bits of color,
the pigments of color from our foods. Eating natural-state foods with lots of pigments combined with
intelligent amounts of Sun exposure is a great upscale alternative approach from so-called ‘sunscreens’.
Foods rich in ruby and gold pigments are golden flax, cumin, bee pollen, goji berries, and Sun Fire Salt. Violet
pigments are found rich in Cacao which we know to be King of anti-oxidants with intense purple oils,
blueberries, concord grapes, and poppy seeds.
While these are some of the more powerful sources of color pigments across the spectrum of light, there are
many. To ensure a nutritionally balanced life, simply include lots of natural state botanical sources of color in
your life!

Follow Your Passion
by Nancy A. Kaiser
I came out of the womb with an innate love for animals - all animals. As a small child
vacationing in Florida, my folks took me to a dolphin show, and we went each
night. The owner felt sorry for my folks and stopped charging admittance. It is
apparent to me that my passion was firmly in place at birth as was my fascination
with horses.
My first riding lesson wasn’t until eight-years-old due to an age restriction by the
County Park System. My mother took me to gaze at the horses until I was old
enough. By thirteen, my dream of having my own horse was realized.
I was blessed with parents that nurtured my love for animals. We started with kittens,
but they gave way to family dogs. My folks encouraged my love for horses and
supported my showing from childhood through college.
Upon graduating high school, I made a mind-based decision to become a pharmacist
like my father and grandfather. The only thing I really loved was riding and showing
horses, and I didn’t want to risk losing that. I never wanted to hate going to the barn,
so I followed my mind and not my heart, i.e. my passion.
Feeling I’d made a very mature decision, I headed to pharmacy school with my
horses and continued to show until graduation. While working in my family’s
pharmacy, I still rode but no longer showed. Eventually, my mind-based decision
turned ugly.
Having grown up at the barn, I was ill-prepared for spending long hours inside
practicing pharmacy. Even though I was still riding whenever I could, I was in tears on my way to work. So much for
mature decisions; mine was turning into a real mistake - an opportunity for learning.
The Universe came to my rescue and righted my course. I fell in love and married my horse vet. I left pharmacy to run
our veterinary office, equine hospital and breeding farm. I was back where I belonged. For 27 years, I worked
ceaselessly caring for clients’ horses and our own.
I’d have never envisioned this possibility. I had briefly considered vet school, but whenever my own horses needed
sutures, I got queasy. Little did I know that it was caused by my emotional connection. I had no problem treating
others’ horses.

AFFIRMATIVE PRAYER V
by Rev. Lady Diannia Baty
Before writing part five, I kept getting the sense of laughter and
simplicity. I feel like I am being swept away and surrounded by a
force so much bigger than me. It is in and all around me, and this
loving presence is always there. I am sent joy every day. I find ways
to laugh and experience the joy and happiness that is available. I
laugh with God. My dog is always doing cute things that make me
laugh. I watch comedy movies. They uplift me. I laugh at myself.
Laughter massages the soul. A friend of mine sketched a picture of
Jesus laughing. His head was thrown back and his mouth was open
and he was laughing so intensely that tears were rolling down his
cheeks. I was in awe of this sketch. I hold it in my memory to this
day. I have laughed joyfully simply because I am alive.
There are people we meet who have a distinctive laugh and we never
forget it. There are some people I know that constantly have a smile
on their face; it is so big it appears that they will break out in
laughter any minute. Their smile is contagious. You can be around
them for just a few moments and feel better. They are happy for no

It is important for us to learn to laugh at ourselves and our antics. If I were on the outside looking at myself, there
would be many moments throughout the day that I would find humorous. I have made it a point to smile while I am
working about the house, running errands, and especially when I am writing. No one but me has to be present when I
am smiling. I smile because I can. Think about it: smiling costs nothing, requires no time out of your day, and you
can do it while doing something else. Even if you are not smiling on the inside, before long your smile will project
energy to your emotions and thoughts, and your day is transformed. Do you work at a desk a lot like I do? Then, put a
mirror somewhere in front of you and observe yourself while you are working or talking on the phone. What kind of
faces are you making? Are you frowning or smiling? If you are smiling it will come through your energy field right
through the phone. The other person who cannot see you perceives something good and will respond to it in kind. By
the same token you will always feel their energy. If you cannot turn a negative energy field around then get away from
it! DO NOT allow it to change yours.
When you express joy for no reason at all, you turn up the light that is within you and your connection to source is
made strong. It is so sweet to smile and so sweet to feel the divine presence that dwells within say hello and fill you
with grace.
“God, send me what I need today to be joyful, laugh and
smile with you and for you.”
The next thing is to expect it because it is coming as soon as the words and the thought leave your being. This is one
affirmative prayer that your creator loves to bring into being. God is love and is already joyful. Laughter and joy
massages the soul with well being. If there is tragedy and suffering in your life it is even more imperative that you put
this affirmative prayer into practice. I have always had the ability to find humor and joy in almost any situation. It has
carried me forward and lifted me up in many trying life experiences.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself weeping tears of joy and mirth when you do this.
When God starts sending you what you need to be joyful and to put a smile on your face,
don’t forget to say, “God, Thank you.”
I am joyful right now to be able to share this with you. I was so busy this morning just enjoying communing with God

glimpse of myself in the mirror and found it very funny. I had a good laugh at myself. Later on, I was looking for my
glasses and like a lot of you; I found them on my head. This I also found hilarious.
I chuckled and smiled and grinned into my day and there are many hours left before I rest my head on the pillow. I
have been saying “thank you” a lot already. May the affirmative prayers bring you peace and understanding. God has
guided me to "Keep It Simple Spirit." God adheres to the KISS principle too! In fact, where do you think it came
from? God does absolutely have a sense of humor and examples of that are all around you so open your eyes and your
heart, here they come. Please send in your comments and experiences about the affirmative prayers so it can be shared
with others. Let me know if I have your permission to share it. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some giggling and
chuckling to do.

The Light of Fire
Smoking fire,
Red orange embers,
Dancing flame,
Something we admire,
Something we remembered,
Every flame is not the
same.
Ghost in the smoke,
Smell of burning wood
The fire never lies.
In the end, on these memories I choke
In want of seeing it all again if I could.
Though, somehow with it all my heart dies
In remembrance of the shadows of old,
Surrounded by trees of age,
Hopeful sight of fiery nymphs around the fire of dance,
Yet the air drops to cold
Like seeing through a gypsy's cage
All of life forever is left to chance.
Gemma Abston
How often do we find ourselves in situations where we think it’s all over, that
there’s nothing and nowhere to turn? Yet, all we have to do is look away from
the problem, away from the darkness and from what seems to be; then we can
see that which we thought was dead has risen and is still alive in us.
But what does that mean? Is it only an event that happened over 2000 years
ago? Or is it something which can happen in our lives today?
The truth is, Easter is all about life made new again. When we think it’s over, it’s not. We have a God that makes the
impossible possible.
In another version of the Easter story (Matthew 28) we read that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (the mother of
Jesus) go to the tomb. The stone that blocked the entrance has been rolled away and an angel sits upon it. The angel
says to the women, "Do not be afraid.".
When Jesus discovers his disciples in a room with their heads hanging in a depressed state, he says "Do not be afraid!"
That’s the first thing to remember when things happen. Don’t be afraid! Fear paralyzes our potential. We become
stuck and we become rigid. Fear breaks down our relationships with God, our trust in God. When we become fearful,
we lose the sense of trust. We say, “Oh yes, I believe in God.” But there’s a big difference between believing in God
and trusting in God. Doubts about our potential and doubts about God’s presence within us, limit our possibilities.
When the Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, were flying their first airplane in 1903, an astronomer named Simon
Newcomb was writing a thesis about the impossibility of being able to fly. He said, “There is no possible combination
of known substances, known forms of machinery, and known forms of force that can be united in a practical machine
by which men shall fly long distances through the air. It is impossible.” Yet, the Wright brothers flew.

The Wright brothers’ father, a minister who founded the Union Theological Seminary, was instrumental in their
success. When he noticed his sons limiting themselves by working as bicycle repairmen, he decided to share his
philosophy about the empty tomb with them.
He said, “I shared my philosophy with them about the empty tomb and then I just stood back to watch them fly.” How
wonderful it is to have someone who encourages us like that and then stands back to watch us fly, to see the potential
within us take flight.
The truth is that the potential for triumph is always there, the potential to rise above limitation is always there.
What are you dealing with in your life? What situation is in your life?
I’d like to share with you three action steps prompted by the Easter story:
1. Refuse to give up. On the Friday before Easter, the worst scenario happened; Jesus died. The disciples went back
to their fishing; they didn’t know what else to do. And then three days later the unexpected happened. So refuse to
give up; it’s always possible. Even death couldn’t stop God’s plan.
2. Surround yourself with Easter-thinking people. Don’t get caught up with people who put you down, and don’t put
yourself down. You can rise up over your limitations. Hang around with people who remind you of the potential that
is always there. If you have to change your friends, do so, and let your friends be those who support you in your
potential for growth.
3. Rise triumphant. You were created to fly. You were created to soar, to rise up above any limitations, to soar above
those situations that would hold you back and down. You were created in the image and likeness of God, you have the
possibilities and potentials within you to rise triumphant. What’s keeping you from flying?
One of my favorite passages in the Bible is in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me.” That’s a wonderful scripture to use as an affirmation. You may not know where to turn, but as you turn to the
Christ within, as you turn to God’s presence, you are strengthened. And that which seemed impossible becomes
possible.
