ITINERARY
DAY 1 USA - Beijing

We start our vacation by boarding an international flight bound for

Beijing, the capital of modern-day China. Spend the night aboard
the plane.

DAY 2 Arrive Beijing

Arrive at Beijing in the evening. After clearing customs and

retrieving our baggage, we are met by our guide and transferred to
the luxury hotel for well-deserved rest and relaxation.

DAY 3 Beijing (AB, L, DS)

Our Beijing tour starts with a visit to the Tiananmen Square, the
world’s largest public square. Proceed to Forbidden City, where for
over 500 years commoners were forbidden to enter. The next roll
over to the Summer Palace at Kunming Lake, the summer home of
the emperor and his royal court is also visited. After a local cuisine
dinner, we will be entertained by a popular stage show "The Legend
of Kungfu."

DAY 4 Beijing (AB, L, DP)

Built to protect its people from northern marauders, the Great Wall
snakes its way thousands of miles across Northern China and is one
of the few objects on the earth visible even from the moon. This
morning we spend time walking atop this man-made wonder of the
world, descending to visit the Ming Tombs Museum. Tonight we
indulge our plates with the famed Peking Duck Banquet for dinner.

DAY 5 Beijing - Xian (AB, L, DP)

After breakfast we are off to the airport. On the way, stop at the
Temple of Heaven to experience the place of prayer to the
emperors. Arrive at Xian, the historic starting point of the famed
Silk Road. Xian’s history encompasses the entirety of Chinese
civilization, a fact that its proud citizens are not remiss to impress
upon us. Tonight, the local cuisine is served for dinner.

DAY 6 Xian (AB, L, DS)

Xian is home to the life-sized Terra-Cotta Warriors of Qin Shi Huang.

Made to protect China’s first emperor even in death, the Terra-Cotta
Army was found by a farmer in 1974 and attracts thousands of
visitors each year. After viewing the fine troops, we head to Hua Qin
Hot Springs. Tonight we watch a stage opera of the Tang Dynasty
after we are served the imperial Dumpling Banquet for dinner.

DAY 7 Xian - Guilin (AB, L, DH)

After breakfast, we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, pass by the Old
City Wall and the ancient Bell Tower. Later we fly to the picturesque
city, Guilin. Upon our arrival, we visit the Reed Flute Cave where
fantastic stalactite and stalagmite formations impress us as magical
and otherworldly. Elephant Trunk Hill is also visited. Guilin rice
noodles (mifen) is one of the most well-known local snacks in China.
Tonight we’ll have a chance to enjoy it.

DAY 8 Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin (AB, L, DS)

A meandering river cruise down the Li River is a delightful way to

savor the serene, fairytale scenery of Southern China. We may even
catch the fascinating sight of fishermen fishing with cormorant
birds! The cruise ends at Yangshuo, then we take a bus back to
Guilin. Tonight we are treated to a dinner show of China’s minority
folklore dance.

DAY 9 Guilin - Shanghai (AB, L, DS)

Board a domestic short flight to Shanghai, China’s largest city with a

population of over 14 million. An afternoon city tour takes us to Yu
Garden, the bustling Nanjing Road, and the famous waterfront
Bund. Tonight, we are captivated by an impressive Chinese
Acrobatics Show.
