Characteristics
 Kemiri Sunan is a tree indigenous to the Philippines, it is also
found growing naturally in West Java. Recently it is being
cultivated in the Sumedang Area by our team.
 The optimum conditions for Kemiri Sunan are in Tropical
areas and it thrives well at low to medium altitudes. In West
Java it is found at altitudes up to 700 meters
 It reaches heights of over 15 meters with a productive life of
75 years and with it’s broad canopy and deep root system it
prevents erosion and increases water absorption into the soil.
 Besides being used as biodiesel the oil is also used for
various industrial products including varnish, paint, soap,
linoleum, cloth oil, resin, synthetic rubber, lubricant, food
containers and insulation.
 The Sap is used as traditional medicine for skin ailments.
 The oil byproducts can be used as fertilizer and cattle feed

Who are we ?
• PT Bahtera Hijau Lestari (BHL) is an agri-company which
focuses on Bio renewable Energy and since 2006 has carried out
extensive research on Kemiri Sunan Tree (Aleurites Trisperma ).
BHL works closely with the BALITTRI research center to ensure
that seeds distributed for planting are of the best quality. They
also provide comprehensive technical and managerial support to
field projects

• IndoAdvisors, consultancy branch of PT. IndoGreen Resource

Solutions, specializes in sourcing land for commercial scale
plantations on which sustainable, environmentally friendly values
are employed. We also arrange necessary licenses and permits,
liaise with government and conduct comprehensive socialization
programs. We have a large pool of experienced plantation
professionals to call on both expat and national.

• With our combined resources and the support of the BALITTRI

research center, BHL and IndoAdvisors have the technology,
Progress and Plans
• In 2008, we planted more than 60.000 Kemiri Sunan trees in
unused land in West Java Indonesia. This planting program is in
line with Government policy of land rehabilitation.
• To complement our in-house research capabilities we signed a
Joint Agreement in 2009 with BALITTRI (Balai Penelitian Tanaman
Rempah Dan Aneka Tanaman Industri - Indonesian Spice and
Industrial Crops Research Institute, ISICRI. This institute is
considered one of the worlds leading research centers in the field
of Spice and seed technology.
• We currently operate a nursery with over 300.000 trees destined
for planting in an area of over 10.000 Ha of unused land controlled
by the West Java Forestry Department.
• We established a 6 Ha nursery in Subang, West Java. From this
nursery we can provide enough seedlings to plant 100.000 Ha per
year.
• We are also preparing land in South Kalimantan for the planting of
22,000 Ha which will be producing oil in 4 years.
