What is m ?
"m " is a solution that enables you to map contents of Windchill Application Server to
Windows/Linux/Unix and Mobile systems as network drive.
The image below shows how PLM Drive looks like when it is mapped to Windows system.
We will be showing you a video presentation of how PLM Drive works later during the
presentation. Stay tuned.
pnce Windchill is mapped to systems such as desktops or
servers, i.e. PLM Drive is created, users will be able to view
contents inside Products, Libraries and Projects by simply
double clicking and navigating within folder structure. PLM
Drive is a framework and can be configured in various
different ways to satisfy your business needs.
Why m ?
Why use m ?
Additionally, new images might get release while writers are still working on
their documentation making the images that they used in their tool
obsolete.
îf the writers had access to Windchill via PLM Drive, it would have been lot
easier for them to use images in their documentation tool as they could
simply navigate to the images by using ile -->însert functionality of their
documentation tool. Also, the images used in their documentation could
simply be pointers to images in PLM Drive thus by preventing them from
using obsolete image as their documentation automatically gets updated
with latest image.
Why m ?
You can map Windchill to a server as a drive and share the drive to other
users using TP or as shared drive if those users simply need to view the
contents but do not need to access Windchill.
Why m ?
There are several other use cases of PLM Drive such as data migration from
Windchill to other systems and integration with other content
management systems like SharePoint.
