LEEDS IN BLOOM DESIGN A FLOWERBED COMPETITION

2012

Aims of the competition.


To encourage young people to be more aware of their
environment and the horticultural features within it.

Prizes

Three Winners will have their design translated into prominent


flowerbeds within the City centre.

A Named Plaque will notify who was designer.

Winners and Runners-up receive individual prizes & Certificates

The Three Winning Schools each receive 300 worth of Garden


Gift Vouchers

Runners-up Schools receive vouchers 150 worth of vouchers

The Lord Mayor will present the Awards at a Presentation


Parents and Teachers invited.

Winners will have their photographs taken by a Professional


Photographer in front of their flowerbed

All entrants receive a Named Certificate.


GENERAL INFORMATION

AGE CATEGORIES 4 14 Years

Thought must be given to the fact that the designs have to be


translated into a planting scheme.

The idea is to design a pattern or collage not a garden scene or


picture.

Individual entries only, no shared or group designs.

Each design must be no larger than A3 and be clearly labelled with


the Title of the Design; Childs Full Name,Age, along with the
Schools Name, Address & Telephone number.

Leeds Floral Initiative will appoint judges whose decision is final.


No correspondence concerning the competition will be entered into.

The Floral Initiative reserves the right to display or reproduce any


of the designs without seeking the individuals permission.

All entries will be returned to their owners after the competition.


Any design, which does not comply with the rules, will be
disqualified.

Schools: to avoid spelling mistakes please send either a typed class


list or an excel 2003 file to Richard.gill@leeds.gov.uk.

THE THREE FLOWERBEDS LOCATIONS, SHAPES & SIZES

York Street Banking


1 x Rectangle flowerbed- measuring 10 metres wide x 5 metres deep.

Park Square Beds 1 & 2


Each square measuring 9.5 metres x 9.5 metres.

THE CLOSING DATE IS MONDAY 9th January 2012
