to abide by the following rules and regulations:

1. I understand that a non-refundable sum of $30.00 will be paid for the privilege of registering two
vehicles for parking. Should I lose my parking tag, I will immediately report the loss to the ‘Akahi
Student Center at (808)842-8531. Another parking tag will be issued to me for $30.00.

2. I will only park the registered vehicle(s) in the zone assigned. Parental excuses are not accepted.
Unauthorized, unknown or unregistered vehicles may be subject to being towed off

5. I understand that driving on campus during the school day (7:35 a.m. to the end of the last
mandatory activity), including driving to and from Chapel, assemblies, large group meetings, etc.,
will result in the loss of my driving and parking privileges on campus (20 school days for the first
offense, 40 school days for the second).

6. I will obey all posted speed limits and regulatory signs on campus and yield the right of way to
pedestrians.

7. I will report any changes in my vehicle(s) (i.e. new license plate numbers) to the ‘Akahi Student

11. I understand that the responsibility for a privately owned vehicle parked on campus lies with the
individual driver/owner. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOOL REIMBURSE THE OWNER
FOR THE COST OF REPAIR FOR VANDALISM OR THEFT.

trunk of my vehicle will result in the loss of my driving and parking privileges on campus (30
school days for the first offense, the remainder of the school year for the second).

13. I understand that running stop signs, speeding or otherwise operating my vehicle in a
reckless fashion will result in the loss of my driving and parking privileges on campus (30 school
days for the first offense, the remainder of the year for the second). I understand I will not get my
decal back at the end of my revocation. I must purchase one-day passes to park on campus.

14. I understand that motorcycles and mopeds driven by students are not allowed on campus at any

RE: STUDENT PARKING FOR THE 2010 - 2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Student parking for the 2010 -2011 school year will be greatly affected due to many
construction projects that will be occurring on campus. We will be losing two
students parking lots which will obviously affect the number of student drivers we
can allow on campus.

To maximize the number of student drivers on campus, we will be implementing a

decal share program. Sharing a decal means that students may sign up with no
more than one other person to share the decal. Coordinating use of the decal to
drive will be left up to the student drivers. Students and families who would like to
utilize this option will have first priority to apply. Applications will be accepted
from May 10 - May 14, 2010. Application packets must be filled out
completely (application AND contract) and submitted along with a copy of
driver’s license to the ‘Akahi Student Center. Your packet must be
submitted along with those with whom you plan on sharing your decal.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATION PACKETS (those submitted without a copy of
your driver’s license, incomplete form, etc.) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED so
please be sure that everyone has completed his/her packet.

For those who would prefer their own decal, this option is also available ON A
LIMITED BASIS. For those applying for an individual decal, applications
will be accepted from May 17 – 21, 2010. Application packets must be
filled out completely (application AND contract) and submitted along with
a copy of driver’s license to the ‘Akahi Student Center. INCOMPLETE
APPLICATION PACKETS (those submitted without a copy of your driver’s
license, incomplete form, etc.) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Application packets, consisting of an application, contract and student drivers’

manual, will become available on Monday, May 10th and may be picked up from
‘Akahi Student Center on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. All vehicles
registered must belong to a member of the student’s immediate family.

Please note a student’s driving record from the prior year has bearing on whether
parking is issued for the current year. If a student has had driving privileges
revoked more than once or has received four (4) or more citations
resulting in a disposition/fine (excused citations are excluded), the
application will not receive priority regardless of when the application is
received.

Requests for parking received by the deadline will be filled according to when the
completed application packet is date and time stamped “received”, at ‘Akahi
Student Center. Because of the limited number of parking stalls, not all requests
for parking can always be filled. Applications received after the deadline will be
wait-listed and filled on a first come first served basis.

Upon receipt of your application packet, you will be required to sign up to attend a
decal meeting. Deadline to sign up for a decal meeting is on or before 3:30
p.m., Friday, June 25, 2010. You may also pre-register your vehicle (current
registration, safety check and no-fault insurance) at this time as long as the
expiration dates fall after August 2010. Otherwise, please bring in the current
paperwork to the decal meeting.

All decal meetings will be held at ‘Akahi Student Center and the $30.00 parking fee
will be collected at that time. Doors will close five (5) minutes after the start of the
meeting. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO SCHEDULE A MEETING OR ATTEND A
MEETING FORFEIT THEIR PARKING SPACE AND THE PARKING SPACE WILL
BE ASSIGNED TO THE NEXT PERSON ON THE WAITING LIST.

The dates and times of each meeting are as follows:

July 26, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for decal share only)
July 27, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for decal share only)
July 28, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for individual decals
only)
July 29, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for individual decals
only)
August 6, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for decal share only)
August 9, 2010 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for individual decals only)

YOU MAY APPLY FOR BOTH THE COUNTRY BUS AND STUDENT PARKING. HOWEVER,
BECAUSE SPACE IS LIMITED, STUDENTS WHO ARE GRANTED A KAMEHAMEHA BUS
PASS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR DRIVING AND PARKING PRIVILEGES. A
CHOICE MUST BE MADE BETWEEN THE BUS OR DRIVING PRIVILEGES.

When the allotted spaces for student parking have been filled, a wait list will be
created and students will be notified via letter as spaces open up. Incomplete
application packets will not be time stamped and/or placed on the wait
list until the application packet is complete. Please note that it is your
responsibility to verify that the application packet is complete and that all
requirements have been met.

Students who have an occasional need to drive may secure a one-day parking pass
for vehicles from `Akahi Student Center for $2.00 per day. Students wishing to
drive and park for one day must present their driver’s license, the vehicle
registration, their No-Fault insurance card and proof of current safety check in order
to obtain a one-day pass (Please plan ahead as parking is limited).

All students who drive and park on campus are to adhere to the rules and
regulations as described in the Student Handbook and the Student Driver’s Manual.
Failure to do so may result in either the student being fined or having their driving
privileges revoked depending upon the infraction and final disposition of either
Traffic Court or the Dean of Student Activities. Individuals who repeatedly
violate KS Parking Rules and Regulations and /or unauthorized vehicles
parked on campus may be subject to being towed off campus at the
owner’s expense. Parents are also responsible for acquainting themselves with
student parking and driving regulations.

Students or parents who have any questions regarding the status of their
applications for driving and parking on campus should call ‘Akahi Student Center at
842-8531.

We appreciate your understanding as we adjust to the parking changes due to the

construction. Mahalo in advance for your cooperation and support.
