Panel 1: Establishing shot. Wide, high angle shot of the American Museum of Natural
History at night. The streets are bustling with activity as people stream into the entrance
of the museum. A large banner is draped in front announcing the grand opening of the
Egyptian Hall. Just a quick note, the year is 1910, so everything in this book is going to
have a stylish, classic feel to it. But more importantly, take artistic liberties. This will be a
fun little story, no need for too much accuracy. Cartoony is the feel. This is your version
of the world you are creating so have fun with it!

Caption: This entry follows the society‟s events on the evening of April 15th, 1913.

Caption: In our continued pursuit of the nefarious King Ahman, Vitra was able to
discern his final destination through her clairvoyant abilities. It seems his sarcophagus
was headed to the American Museum of Natural History, where it was to become a
permanent fixture in their Egyptian Hall.

Panel 2: Wide angle shot inside the museum at the entrance of the Egyptian Hall. A large
crowd has gathered around a raised platform complete with podium. Large banners
overhead announce the exhibit and its dates. At the podium is the museum‟s curator, a
rather proud fellow in his early 50s. Directly to his left is a large sarcophagus, which has
been crafted to look very threatening. Feel free to make it as ominous as you‟d like. The
entire of the museum should be very large, with granite and marble structures with warm
lighting. Various pieces of Egyptian art and displays have been placed all around.

Caption: Unable to intercept the sarcophagus en route, we were forced to confront the
king in public.

Curator: And, finally, we would like to thank the very generous contributions from the
archeological society in Cairo, whose tireless efforts have brought many of the fine
artifacts you see before you this evening.

Panel 3: Medium shot of the proud curator, standing behind the podium, as he announces
the unveiling. The sarcophagus is right beside him.

Curator: Now, it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the Egyptian Hall!

Panel 4: Close on the ominous sarcophagus.

Caption: Our timing was impeccable.

SFX: MUUUUUUHHHHHHH
Page 2: 3 panels

Panel 1: Large panel. Angle on the Mummy, King Ahman, as he bursts out of his
sarcophagus. The curator has turned in fright. Debris and dust from the shattered
sarcophagus fly everywhere. The Mummy is a haggard beast with reddish eyes peering
through his decaying bandages. He reaches for the curator with rotting, boney hands.
Since this is the first piece of action, my only request is to make it as dynamic as possible.

Curator: Gahhh!

Mummy: MMMRUUUUUUUHHHHHH

SFX: BASH!

Panel 2: Angle on the Mummy as he has pulled the curator to his face by the man‟s throat.

Mummy: Kneel before your KING.

Curator: Gak!

Mr. Hammerwyck(Off Panel): Good evening, your highness…

Panel 3: Full shot of the Cambridge Paranormal Society. Mr. Hammerwyck stands in the
middle, aiming his plasma musket toward us. It begins to hum with power and blue light
as it warms up. Mr. Beckwith stands to his right, his bow and arrow at the ready. Vitra is
to his left, watching it all unfold with a menacing glare.

Mr. Hammerwyck: …would you be so kind as to release the poor man?

SFX: vmmmmmmmMMMMMM
Page 3: 5 panels

Panel 1: Angle on the Mummy as he throws the curator to the side and prepares to charge
toward us.

Mummy: Hammerwyck! You old fool!

Mummy: You‟re too late! My kingdom will rise agai-

Panel 2: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck as he fires his plasma musket. A powerful blue
energy blast fires out from the brass muzzle. The force blows Hammerwyck‟s hair back.

SFX: BVAMP

Panel 3: Angle on the Mummy, who has exploded into a massive dust cloud as shreds of
his wrapping fall about. The blue energy force continues to blast through the cloud and
toward a rear wall.

SFX: POOF

Panel 4: Angle on the exterior of the museum as the blue energy blast explodes through
the rear wall. Pedestrians dive out of the way as concrete debris flies everywhere.

SFX: BA-DOOM

Panel 5: Angle on the Society as they stand in front of the gaping hole in the wall. Dust
and mummy rags continue to fall around them. A rather perplexed Mr. Hammerwyck
turns to his colleagues.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Oh, for God‟s sake. I was just hoping to wound the fellow.

Mr. Hammerwyck: He literally went “Poof”!

Mr. Beckwith: I definitely heard a “Poof”, sir.

Vitra: *Cough* Ve‟re going to have to pay for that vall *Cough* Idiots.
Page 4: 5 panels

Panel 1: The entire panel is a close up on a newspapers front page. On it is a classic

picture of the society, sitting around their fire place. It‟s obviously a promotional picture.
The headline reads: Nightmare at the Museum: What is the Cambridge Paranormal
Society?

No Copy

Panel 2: Wide, high angle shot of the Abilene Theater at day. The theater is a classic
theater in the heart of Boston. It‟s no longer used for show business. Instead, it is the
home for the Cambridge Paranormal Society.

Caption: Abilene Theater.

Caption: Home to the Cambridge Paranormal Society.

Panel 3: Wide angle shot of a laboratory inside the theatre. Various glass tubes, beakers,
glasses, burners and other equipment are strewn around the lab. Mr. Hammerwyck is
hovering over a work station. Mr Beckwith stands at his side.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Hand me the dropper, please, Mr. Beckwith.

Mr. Beckwith: This is all very exciting, sir. I‟m a bit anxious.

Panel 4: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck as he holds up a half full test tube and drops a
single drop of liquid into it from a medicine dropper.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Naturally. However, a skilled scientist exhibits patience and

professionalism. This is a time for seriousness young man. This particular concoction has
taken years to develop. I‟m prepared for many more.

Mr. Hammerwyck: There. Perfect. Vitra, let‟s have Mr. Pickles, please.

Panel 5: Angle on Vitra, holding a cute, tiny little mouse.

Vitra: If anything happens to him, Ben, I svear I‟ll curse you like never before.
Page 5: 4 panels

Panel 1: Angle on a serious Mr. Hammerwyck as he feeds the tiny mouse with the
medicine dropper.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Hm. Worse than the curse of raging diarrhea? That was the last time
I ever wore a white suit.

Vitra (Off-Panel): I took it easy on you.

Panel 2: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck‟s hand as he places the mouse inside a glass reptile
tank. A large, venomous-looking snake slithers out from behind a rock.

Mr. Hammerwyck(Off Panel): I assure you, Vitra, Mr. Pickles will be just fine.

Panel 3: Low angle shot from behind the mouse looking up toward the snake that has
reared its head and is about to strike!

SFX: SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Panel 4: Angle on the society from behind. Their backs are to us as they surround the
tank, blocking our view. There is a large commotion happening inside the tank, but we
just can‟t make it out. Mr. Hammerwyck is positioned in the middle and is completely
calm. The other two, Beckwith and Vitra, can‟t believe their eyes.

Mr. Beckwith: Would you look at that! Remarkable!

Vitra: Vhat have you done, Ben?

SFX: Graaah

SFX: GRUNT

SFX: THAK
Page 6: 4 panels

Panel 1: Close on Mr. Hammerwyck as he holds up a very cute and cuddly Mr. Pickles,
perfectly unharmed.

Mr. Hammerwyck: See? Perfectly fine.

Panel 2: Angle on the society, as they all turn their heads in response to the doorbell.

Mr. Hammerwyck: That‟s odd.

Vitra: It‟s a messenger.

Mr. Beckwith: At his hour?

SFX: Brrrriiiiinnnnggggg

Panel 3: Medium shot from behind Mr. Hammerwyck who has opened the door. Over his
shoulder, a messenger stands in the doorway. He is a dutiful man, with his messenger
uniform in perfect order. He looks like he‟s in the messenger army with this uniform. A
hat covers down to his eyes.

Messenger: Mr. Hammerwyck?

Mr. Hammerwyck: Yes?

Messenger: Orders from the Bradford Harbor Police Department. Sign please.

Panel 4: Reverse angle. Mr. Hammerwyck holds a note in his hand. Mr. Beckwith stands
just behind him, curious as to who sent the note. Vitra is off to Hammerwyck‟s right. The
messenger has turned and is walking toward us.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Hmm. Pack your bags, my fellow cohorts. It appears our services
are to aide in a homicide investigation.
Page 7: 4 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot of a New England fishing village at day. A lighthouse is the
only structure visible in this panel. It is positioned on a cliff overlooking the sea. Three
individuals, Mr. Hammerwyk, Mr. Beckwith, and Vitra, exit their horse-drawn carriage
in the foreground. The local sheriff, Sergeant Pudup is walking out to greet them with his
hand extended. A group of two other policemen wait in the distance. Mr. Hammerwyck
seems to be giving Sheriff Pudup the most attention. Vitra is staring off into the distance.
Mr. Beckwith is struggling to remove a large trunk from the carriage.

Caption: This entry documents the society‟s events from the 20th of April, 1910.

Caption: We arrived rather quickly after a frantic message from a Mr. Ronald Pudup,
sheriff of Bradford Harbor, who requested our assistance with a bizarre murder. It seems
a local witch had fallen victim to foul play.

Sheriff Pudup: Mr. Hammerwyck? Welcome to Bradford Harbor. Thank you for coming
so quickly.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Our pleasure. I just regret that we are visiting for such a grizzly
matter.

Panel 2: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck and Sheriff Pudup as they shake hands.

Sheriff Pudup: I share that sentiment. Ms. Schaffer‟s cottage is just up the knoll.

Panel 3: Angle on Sheriff Pudup and Mr. Hammerwyck as they walk toward us along a
path. Vitra looms nearby as Mr. Beckwith struggles with the trunk behind them.

Sheriff Pudup: Everyone in town knew of Ms. Schaffer. Rumors here and there. Bizzare
lights, green mist, that sort of thing. But, honestly I never had any trouble with the
woman.

Sheriff Pudup: As for the church, that‟s a different story.

Mr. Hammerwyk: I‟m sure.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Who discovered the body?

Panel 4: Wide angle shot from behind the group as they approach Ms. Schaffer‟s modest
cottage.

Sheriff Pudup: A local boy. Terrible thing, really. It seems he had befriended the old
woman, helping her with chores around the cottage. Poor child found her torn to pieces.
He hasn‟t been the same since.
Page 8: 4 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot inside the cottage. A jagged hole is visible in a back wall. It‟s
massive, as if something exploded through it. We can see out to the ocean through it. The
group stands in the living room. Furniture is broken and scattered everywhere. It looks
like the sign of an awful struggle. Mr. Hammerwyk stands with Sheriff Pudup. Vitra
walks alone with her head down and her open hand held to the ceiling. Mr. Beckwith is
on his knees with the open trunk.

Mr. Hammerwyck: You were right to have called for us, Mr. Pudup.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Vitra?

Panel 2: Angle on Vitra, as she seems to have gone into some sort of trance. Her eyes are
now stark white. She still holds her hand to the ceiling. Her lips are pursed.

Vitra: It came from the earth, wretched and dirty and bloody.

Vitra: It was looking for something …a book.

Panel 3: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck and Sheriff Pudup.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Our first break.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Mr. Beckwith, your sketchbook please. Let‟s see if we can‟t figure
out what this beast was after.

Mr. Beckwith: Yes, sir.

Mr. Hammerwyck: In the meantime, where can we find this boy?

Page 9: 4 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot of a New England church as the three society members and
Sheriff Pudup walk to the front doors. It‟s a classic church. Here‟s the reference:

Sheriff Pudup: I have to warn you. Father Talbot is very protective of his church. He‟ll
see this as an intrusion.

Mr. Hammerwyck: We shall mind our manners then.

Panel 2: Wide angle shot inside the church, looking down the aisle to the alter where
Father Talbot is giving his sermon. The church is packed with parishioners that seem to
hang on his every word. The church itself is in the classic New England mold, with fine
wood work throughout and stain glass windows.

Father Talbot: And in these times of peril, we turn to the lord. For guidance, for
forgiveness. We turn to him with the hope that He will deliver us from the evil that has
besieged our parish, like the shepherd to his flock.

Father Talbot: We must prove our worth now. Live in the word of the Lord.

Panel 3: Medium shot as the society and Sheriff Pudup enter through the heavy, wooden
doors of the church.

Father Talbot(Off Panel): Shine His light on this darkness. Drive it back to the
shadows! The faithful do not waiver in the face of such evil!

Panel 4: Close on Father Talbot. He is an older gentleman with a rigid disposition to him.
He is not a warm fellow. He looks very serious and in this panel, the visitors have caught
his eye. He doesn‟t look too pleased.

Father Talbot: Sheriff Pudup. We do thank you for gracing us with your presence.
Would these be your friends from Cambridge?
Page 10 : 4 panels

Panel 1: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck, who has a proud look to him.

Mr. Hammerwyck: We are, indeed. My name is Mr. Hammerwyck and these are-

Panel 2: Angle on Father Talbot as he walks down from his alter toward the aisle.

Father Talbot: The infamous occultist? Ladies and gentlemen, Sheriff Pudup has
decided to bring pagan worshipers to our church. Oh, how the pious have fallen.

Panel 3: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck and Sheriif Pudup. Mr. Hammerwyck seems
insulted.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Pagan? Hardly.

Sheriff Pudup: We‟ve come to speak with young Timothy Lewiston.

Panel 4: Close on a shadowy image of young Charles. He sits between his parents. He sits
very sullen, we can‟t make out his features but he is sunken into his pew.

Father Talbot(Off Panel): Timothy has already given you his deposition, Ronald. It‟s
time to let him grieve among our parishioners. It‟s bad enough he fell prey to that
scheming witch.
Page 11: 6 panels

Panel 1: Angle on an outraged young woman who has burst through the massive wooden
church doors. Her name is Emily Schaffer, the witch‟s daughter. She points toward us
with rage. In her other arm is a massive, weathered, leather bound book with a brass
buckle latching it shut.

Emily: You watch your tongue, father! My mother was an honorable woman. She would
never hurt a child!

Panel 2: Close on the menacing priest.

Father Talbot: Ah, hello, Emily. The witch‟s daughter returns. I can see you turned out
just as vile.

Panel 3: Angle on Emily who has walked between Mr. Hammerwyck and his team
members. She holds the book up with both arms.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Daughter? Now, this is intriguing.

Emily: You were after this, weren‟t you?! You‟ll never have my mother‟s secrets, do you
hear me?

Panel 4: Angle on an intrigued Mr. Hammerwyck staring at the book in Emily‟s hands.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Hmm. The Book of Gimmorium Vernum. The essential volume for
conjuring demons and spirits. A must have for any witch worth her weight.

Father Talbot (Off-Panel): Get that Satanic scroll out of this holy sanctuary!

Panel 5: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck.

Mr. Hammerwyck: We don‟t mean to be quarrelsome, father, but a crime has been
committed.

Panel 6: Close on Father Talbot.

Father Talbot: And you are quite familiar with that, aren‟t you, Mr. Hammerwyck.

Father Talbot: You see, brothers and sisters, Mr. Hammerwyck is a fallen one. He
betrayed the word of God with his supernatural obsessions.

Father Talbot: It brought death to a town not unlike our own.

Page 12: 4 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot, looking down the aisle as all of the parishioners have stood up
in a very threatening manner. Several large and intimidating parishioners have stepped
out into the aisle. Father Talbot remains in front of the alter.

Father Talbot: This boy is under our care now. It would be wise for your friends to
avoid our parish from now on.

Panel 2: Medium shot as the society, Emily, and Sheriff Pudup exit the church and begin
walking down its steps.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Well, young lady, this has been a curious development. I was
unaware Ms. Schaffer had a daughter.

Emily: Yeah, well, we weren‟t on the best of terms. But your mom is your mom.
She carried you for nine months and went through hell to bring you into the world. You
would owe it to her to find the person who tore her up, wouldn‟t you?

Mr. Hammerwyck: Fair enough. May I ask how it is that you are in possession of this
book and not your mother?

Panel 3: Close on a still fuming Emily.

Emily: It was a gift. Got a problem with that?

Emily: She had big plans for me. But I never could make the cut.

Emily: I was happy to disappoint her

Panel 4: Angle on Vitra and Mr. Beckwith as they lag behind from the group. Mr.
Beckwith looks like he‟s giddy with love. Vitra looks up at him in disgust.

Vitra: Stop staring, you‟re creeping her out.

Mr. Beckwith: I‟m not…what are you talking about? Can you read her mind?

Vitra: I‟ll do no such thing.

Mr. Beckwith: Find out if she likes me!

Vitra: How old are you?

Page 13: 4 panels

Panel 1: Sheriff Pudup interrupts Mr. Hammerwyck. He‟s clearly distressed.

Sheriff Pudup: The last thing I wanted to do was upset Father Talbot. This is hopeless.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Oh, that‟s not the attitude of the sheriff I met before, now, is it?
Let‟s cheer you up. Vitra?

Panel 2: Close on Vitra.

Vitra: It was cloudy, dark, someone did not want me to look. But I saw you, Emily. I saw
your book. And I saw the demon.

Panel 3: Angle on an exuberant Mr. Hammerwyck turning to an angry Emily.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Excellent! The murderer is coming to kill you next! You‟ve made
the perfect bait.

Emily: Bait? You think I‟m bait?

Panel 4: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Of course you are. The killer clearly wants that important family
heirloom of yours. You‟ve simply shown him where to find it.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Mr. Pudup? We will need a place to stay for the evening. A cozy inn
will do just fine. And, please, no need to be discreet about it. We wouldn‟t want the killer
to have any trouble in finding us.
Page 14: 7 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot of a local inn at night. It is a lovely, New England style inn,
overlooking the ocean.
.
Caption: So we just sit here and wait for me to be killed? Sorry to say this but your plan
stinks.

Panel 2: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck and Emily sitting by a window together, looking out
into the night. A fire place provides some dim, warm light in the room.

Mr. Hammerwyck: That‟s understandable. You needn‟t worry.

Mr. Hammerwyck: We‟re quite good at what we do.

Panel 3: Angle on Emily as she looks over her shoulder toward Sheriff Pudup.

Emily: Yes, but he‟s the only one here with a gun.

Panel 4: Close on Mr. Hammerwyck, who holds a set of rosary beads up in his hands.

Mr. Hammerwyck: In my line of work you need more than bullets to protect you.

Panel 5: Angle on Emily and Mr. Hammerwyck.

Emily: So what did the priest mean about you being a criminal?

Mr. Beckwith: Hm. That was a long time ago. And…I have regrets just like anyone else.
I‟ve been trying my best to make a mends.

Emily: How‟s that going?

Mr. Hammerwyck: Never ending, I‟m afraid.

Panel 6: Close on Mr. Hammerwyck.

Mr. Hammerwyck: What about you? Father Talbot seemed to know who you were.

Panel 7: Close on Emily.

Emily: We have a history. He doesn‟t think very fondly of my family.

Page 15: 3 panels

Panel 1: Angle on Vitra, as she performs some sort of séance in the corner of the room.
She‟s on her knees over a dish that has some sort of smoke rising up from it.

Vitra: It‟s here…

Panel 2: Close on Vitra, who looks very frightened.

Vitra: IT‟S HERE!

Panel 3: Large panel. Wide angle shot as a large demon bursts through the wooden floor.
Mr. Hammerwyck and Emily go flying. Vitra , the sheriff, and Mr. Beckwith are on their
feet. The demon is a large, horned creature with jagged jaws. It‟s an awful creature so
have fun with it. My only request is that it walks on all fours like an ape.

SFX: KRAKA-THOOM
Page 16: 5 panels

Panel 1: Angle on Sheriff Pudup who is frightened beyond belief. He‟s firing his pistol
wildly. Mr. Beckwith is behind him, rummaging through the large open trunk from
earlier.

Sheriff Pudup: Oh my God! Oh my God!

SFX: BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM

Panel 2: High angle shot looking down over the monster‟s shoulder. The bullets seem to
bounce right off it. Underneath the monster are Emily and Mr. Hammerwyck. The
monster looms over them. Emily is frozen with fear. Hammerwyck is as calm as ever.

Monster: EEEEMMM- ILLL-EEEE

Mr. Hamerwyck: Mr. Beckwith, the musket, if you please.

Panel 3: Angle on Mr. Beckwith as he tosses the musket to Mr. Hammerwyck.

Mr. Beckwith: Right!

Panel 4: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck who has caught the odd looking musket as it begins
to glow. He looks very confident.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Now, let‟s send you back to the netherworld, shall we?

SFX: Chak

SFX: vvvvvvvmmmmmmMMMMMMMMM

Panel 5: Angle on The monster looming over Emily and Hammerwyck. Hammerwyck is
aiming the musket to the monster‟s midsection. A sorry-looking burp of energy flows out
of the musket.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Oh, for God‟s sake! Can we get this thing right?!

SFX: Bzzp
Page 17: 5 panels

Panel 1: Angle on the monster as he bats Mr. Hammerwyck into the air with his right
hand and snatches up Emily with his left.

SFX: THACK

Panel 2: Angle looking inside the giant trunk as Vitra‟s hand reaches inside. There are
small jars and vials of liquid lining one section of the trunk. Other pieces of odd
equipment can be seen as well. One vial reads Zombie Urine.

Vitra: This‟ll do.

Panel 3: Angle on Vitra as she hurls the glass vial of Zombie Urine.

Vitra: Ughh!

Panel 4: Angle on the monster as the dragon urine explodes in its face, burning its skin.
The monster drops Emily from the pain

Monster: GAAAAHHH!

SFX: Crash

SFX: SSSSSSSSSSSS

Panel 5: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck as he lifts himself up out of the debris from his fall.
The musket lies broken in his hands.

Mr. Hammerwyck: This is getting out of hand…

Mr. Hammerwyck: Vitra? Mr. Pickles, if you please.

Page 18: 4 panels

Panel 1: Angle on Mr. Beckwith as he grabs Emily. The monster is barreling down on
them.

Mr. Beckwith: I‟ve got you! Come on!

Emily: It‟s coming back!

Panel 2: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck as Vitra crawls to him.

Vitra: Ben, not at this dose! He von’t…

Mr. Hammerwyck: Just give me the damn mouse, woman!

Panel 3: Close on Mr. Pickles as Vitra slips him out of a small leather pouch. He looks all
cute and cuddly. So innocent. Mr. Hammerwyck‟s medicine dropper comes into view
from the top of the panel.

Mr. Hammerwyck: If he explodes you get to say I told you so.

Panel 4: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck and Vitra as a giant Were-Mouse now stands in
between them. It‟s a badass looking creature, except for the cute, puffy mouse fur.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Sick „em, Mr. Pickles.

Were-Mouse: HRRUUAAAHH
Page 19: 3 panels

Panel 1: Angle on Mr. Beckwith and Emily as the monster is tackled by the hulking
Were-Mouse behind them.

Panel 2: Angle on the outside wall of the inn as the two bests explode through the wall,
sending wooden splinters everywhere.

SFX: BASH

Panel 3: Angle on Mr. Hammerwyck, Mr. Beckwith, Emily , Sheriff Pudup, and Vitra as
they rush through the gaping hole in the wall.

Mr. Beckwith: You‟ve done it again, Mr. Hammerwyck!

Mr. Hammerwyck: I love your enthusiasm, Mr. Beckwith! It brings a lot to the team.

Vitra: Mr. Pickles!

Emily: You people are worse than my mother!

Sheriff Pudup: Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God

Page 20: 4 panels

Panel 1: Angle on a pint sized Mr. Pickles, back to normal size, sitting atop the dead
monster as the group stand before him in astonishment.

Mr. Hammerwyck: Well done, Mr. Pickles. As for the conjuror, he must not be very far.

Panel 2: Angle on Vitra as she points toward us, clutching Mr. Pickles close to her as if
he were her own child.

Vitra: There!

Panel 3: Angle on a small, shadowy figure running from behind a tree.

Panel 4: Close on a determined Mr. Hammerwyck.

Mr. Hammerwyck: After him.

Page 21: 4 panels

Panel 1: Wide angle shot of the church in the distance. We can make out the shadowy
figure in a dead sprint toward it. The Society is in hot pursuit.

Panel 2: Medium shot inside the church. We are looking down the aisle toward the large
front doors which have been swung open. Running through the door frame is a hooded
person of smaller stature running toward us.

SFX: Ka-Chok

Panel 3: Angle on Mr. Beckwith as he sprints through the door frame as well. He looks
like a determined Olympian.

Mr. Beckwith: Come here, you!

Panel 4: A dynamic panel. Angle on Mr. Beckwith as he makes a diving tackle on the
hooded figure.

Mr. Beckwith: Gottcha!

Page 22: 6 panels

Panel 1: Low angle shot as the remaining members rush toward Beckwith who is trying
to restrain the little boy.

Sheriff Pudup: It‟s young Timothy Lewiston!

Mr. Hammerwyck: Hold him still!

Emily: Let me at him!

Panel 2: Angle on Father Talbot who has come out of his chambers to see about all the
commotion. He‟s rushing down the aisle to stop the madness.

Father Talbot: What on earth is going on here?! Unhand that child!

Panel 3: Close on Mr. Hammerwyck

Mr. Hammerwyck: I‟m afraid not, Father. This boy is a murderer and a conjuror of
demons!

Panel 4: Angle on Father Talbot as he wrestles the boy free from Mr. Beckwith.

Father Talbot: Nonsense! Your pagan hands will not touch him!

Panel 5: Close on an enraged Emily.

Emily: You tricked my mother to get at her spells, didn‟t you, you little brat!

Emily: And when she refused, you…you killed her!

Panel 6: Angle on a very understanding Father Talbot who has put a reassuring arm
around Timothy.

Father Talbot: Now, Timothy. Is any of this true?

Page 23: 3 panels

Panel 2: Close on a devious-looking Timothy.

Timothy: Aw, hell, Father. The jig is up.

Timothy: Kriegus Morgus!

Panel 3: Angle on the Society as they look up toward the church‟s ceiling. They listen for
an awful sound emitting from outside.

Mr. Pudup: W-What is that?

Mr. Hammerwyck: Bats, Mr. Pudup.
