EARLY PRODUCTION:
 Started with production, sales and maintenance of
telephones and switches.
 Modernized the production facilities with the
construction of the Mita Plant in 1901. It was completed in
December 1902.
 The Japanese Ministry of Communications adopted a new
technology in 1903: the common battery switchboard
supplied by NEC.
 The common battery switchboards powered the
subscriber phone
 The switchboards were initially imported, but were
manufactured locally by 1909.
 NEC started exporting telephone sets to China in 1904
Company Structure:
NEC has structured its organisation around three principal
segments: IT solutions, network solutions and electronic
devices.
The IT solutions business delivers computing solutions to
business enterprises, government and individual customers
— in the form of software, hardware and related services.
The network solutions business designs and provides
broadband network systems, mobile and wireless
communications network systems, mobile handsets, broadcast
and other systems.
NEC's electronic devices business includes semiconductors,
displays and other electronic components.

NEC’s Footprint in India:
 1956- Supplied 2Ghz Microwave Communication System to National Physics
Research Centre, Ahmadabad(NECs 1st export of Microwave System)
 1959- Received an order of Coaxial Cable Transmission System from India Post &
Telegraph Department (NEC's 1st export of Coaxial Transmission System).
 1960 - Supplied Medium wave EC's 1st export of Satellite Earth Station).
 1961- Established New Delhi Liaison Office.
 1964- Supplied Satellite Earth Station to PTT (NECs 1st export of Satellite Earth
Station)
 1979- Supplied International Gateway Exchange for OCS (Overseas
Communication Service) at Delhi, Bombay and Madras.
 1981- Concluded technology transfer agreement for INSAT project with ITI for
GCE (Ground Communication Equipment) and LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) with
ECIL for HPA (High Power Amplifier) and antenna
 1984- Supplied 4 systems of Main Frame Computer (ACOS1000) to NIC
(National Informatic Centre).
 1995- Supplied Digital Switching system for PTT.
 2002- Started supply of Pasolink to mobile operators.
 2003- Established NEC Business Co ordination Centre Singapore IPO Office at
Chennai.
 2006 - Established NEC India at New Delhi.
 2008- Established NEC Electronics Liaison office in Bangalore

 NEC India Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between NEC
Corporation (40% HQ in Japan) and NEC Asia Pvt.
Ltd (60%; HQ in Singapore).
Established in New Delhi, India, in August 2006.
 Lead by Mr. Koji Oda (Managing Director)
 Headquarter is in New Delhi and branch offices
are in Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.
