NOTE: PS3 Prox uses an XML file (PS3 Prox.xml – located in the Installation Folder – generally C:\Program Files\PS3 Prox), I
recommend that you make a backup of this file, especially when you uninstall PS3 Prox as this file will be deleted and

Initial Setup:
1. Setup PS3 Prox:
a. On the “Proxy Settings” tab in PS3 Prox
b. Select the required Mode (PS3 or PSP)
c. Now there are 2 ways to get/enter the IP Address:
Way 1:
Click the “Get IP’s” button
The box below the button should now be populated with 1 or more IP Addresses
Select the IP Address that corresponds to your “Local Area Connection” IP Address
o NOTE: If you have multiple IP Addresses in the box, and you are not sure which IP Address
Corresponds to your “Local Area Connection” IP Address rather use Way 2.
Way 2:
Click Start Run
Enter “cmd” (without the quotes) and click “Ok”
A new window will open, in this window type “ipconfig” (without the quotes), then hit “Enter”
Now look for a section that starts with “Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:” – Note: There
might be a number at the end of this line
o Under this section you should see “IP Address” – the value on the right is the IP Address you
will use (take note of this IP Address)
Back in the PS3 Prox Settings window enter the above IP Address into the box next to “IP Address”
d. Enter in a Port Number (default (and recommended) is “8080” – will need to be an Open Port if you have a
firewall installed).
e. If you want PS3 Prox to automatically start when Windows starts, ensure there is an IP Address in the text
box and that you have selected the “Auto Start” checkbox.
f. Click “Save Settings” to save the settings, so next time you start PS3 Prox you will not have to run through
the settings again (unless your IP Address changes)
Setup on PS3 Prox is now done.
2. Setup PS3/PSP:
a. On the PS3 go to Settings Network Settings
b. Go to “Internet Connection Settings” (Click “Yes” if it asks you if you want to continue)
c. Go and adjust/setup your Internet Connection Settings on the PS3/PSP
Under Select a Setting Method – Select “Custom”
Continue entering your Internet Settings as you would normally, until you get to the Proxy Server
Screen
Under Proxy Server, select “Use”
a. For the Address, enter the same IP Address you entered in PS3 Prox
b. For the Port Number enter the same Port Number you entered in PS3 Prox (default is
“8080”)
d. Continue through the Setup steps and Test the Connection
Setup on the PS3/PSP is now done.
1. Start PS3 Prox (on the “Settings” tab) and go to the “Log” tab
2. Start the PS3 game
3. If an update is found, click “Yes” and look at the “Log” tab in PS3 Prox
a. Once the download starts you should see the download link in the “Log” tab, you can now Stop/Cancel the
download on the PS3 – take note of the download link as you will need it later (the best thing to do is to
Copy the link, then go to the “Replace Files” tab and click “Paste Link” then click “Add”)
4. Use the download link in the log tab to get the download of the patch and download the patch onto your PC
PS3 Prox – Log Tab – providing a download link for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Patch 1.02 (EUR)
NOTE: It is normal to show the 2 links (even though they are exactly the same)
You will notice 2 checkboxes on the Log tab (Styles and Images):
If you notice the Log displaying links to XML, CSS and JS files, then click the Styles checkbox and from now on the Log will not
display these links.
If you notice the Log displaying links to Image files such as JPG, PNG and BMP, then click the Images checkbox and from now
on the Log will not display these links.
Checking for the Latest PS3 Firmware Version – Without using the PS3:
Note: The PS3 does not have to be connected to the network to check for the latest firmware.
