Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SVDP Society - What do we do? - We
help our needy neighbours that live within
the boundaries of St. Helen. All calls are
screened and a home visit is arranged with
two members attending.
How are we supported? - The poor box in the ves-
tibule of the church is our main means of support. A
cheque made out to St. Helen St. Vincent de
Paul can be dropped in the poor box or the Sunday
collection. Interested in joining us, call Lorraine
at 905-563-7043.
Canadian Tire Money - We continue to collect
Canadian Tire money to purchase raffle prizes for
fundraising events. It can be brought to the office or
in the collection basket.

Children’s Liturgy
165 Next Sunday June 24 is the last day for Children’s
70 Liturgy before we break for the summer. It will re-
sume again in September.
Preauthorized Debit (PAD) is offered for our Mort-
gage Debt Reduction. If you are interested in using
this convenient way to make your offerings to the
church, please complete the card found in the pews
and return it to the parish office either directly or
through the collection basket. These donations are
processed once a month, on or about the 15th of
each month.

How do you feel about be-
ing made by God into a pol-
ished arrow? Most of us
might say that we would
leave that to John the Bap-
tist.
Arrows, polished or not are
meant to hit their target. This
requires focus, concentration
and practice. As faith com-
munities, how do we help one another to be those
arrows that get to the target of our mission as
church? We have to focus outside of ourselves, con-
centrate on our neighbors and neighborhoods, our
family and friends.
The first step is to practice on small projects. Then
we keep making that mission target bigger, wider

You’re welcome to come to a Wednesday night
practice at 7 p.m. and see what its all about. This di-
verse group is a great bunch and they have fun to-
gether. So DON’T just think about it, ACT on it!

Missionary Priest - June 30th-July 1st
Fr. Joseph Arackal, a Vincentian Missionary Priest
from India, will be in our parish on the weekend of
June 30/July 1st to participate in our Annual Mission-
ary Cooperation Plan. He will preach at all the
Masses next weekend and will make an appeal on
behalf of the Vincentian Missions.
The Vincentian Missionaries need our help to carry
out their many missionary, educational and charita-
ble activities in their missions worldwide. They need
our financial support for the training of young men
studying for the priesthood. There will be special
mission collection next weekend to help the Mission-
ary work of the Vincentian Fathers. Envelopes will
be available in the pews next weekend. Please
keep Fr. Joseph and these Missionaries in your
prayers.
A PRAYER FOR CANADA
Let us pray and live for a world where people
of all nations will be united in thought, word
and deed; help us to be honest, pure and
loving in our relations with others in our world. Let
us pray for peace and harmony for every person in
this nation and every nation; help us to work and live
so that all people everywhere will live a good life,
that hunger, poverty, ignorance and disease will dis-
appear and the kingdom come indeed. Amen.

NET Ministries of Canada
NET Ministries will be visiting our diocese from Octo-
ber 14 - 19, 2018. NET is a team of dedicated,
trained, young Catholic adults who travel across
Canada sharing their faith. It is their hope that young
people will experience the love of God and take one-
step closer to Him. There are both day and evening
Encounter experiences available if you are interest-
ed in offering this wonderful opportunity to your ele-
mentary or high school aged youth. For additional in-
