WARM – UP : - Greet pupils and introduce myself.
- Stress the structure ‘ my name is _______ @ I am

PRESENTATION : - Tell pupils what I like to do ‘ I like to play badminton ‘.
- put the structured on blackboard
- refer to the textbook. Get pupils to look at the concept
page and identify characters on the page.
PRACTICE : - get pupils to sit in group of four. Pupils tell their friends
what they like to do.

WARM – UP : - Using word cards, revise types of food
- Get pupils to list five fruits, vegetables and five kinds of
meat/fish.
- List pupils’ responses on the board.
PRESENTATION : - Using objects/fruits, revise the use of demonstrative
pronouns ‘this’ and ‘that’ with singular objects; e.g.
What is this? = This is a book.
- Revise the use of demonstrative pronouns ‘these’ and
‘those’ using plurals ; e.g. These are books./Those are
pictures.
- Get pupils to locate the scene – in the kitchen.(Page 30)
- Get pupils to locate types of vegetables in the picture.
( bitter gourd, spinach, pumpkin, tomatoes etc)
- Identify types of fruits in the second picture. Introduce
new words like plums, jackfruit, honey melons, pears etc.
- Get pupils identify kinds of meats ( venison, beef,
mutton, prawns, squid etc)
PRACTICE : - In pairs, pupils practise reading the dialogue.
- Bring pupils’ attention to the use of demonstrative

WARM – UP : - Begin by asking pupils whether they have been to any
storytelling sessions before.
- Get them to talk about the sessions ( the venues, the
stories, the storytellers, whether they enjoyed they
sessions or not etc). If there are pupils who have never
attended a storytelling session, get those who have done
so to tell them what it’s all about.
PRESENTATION : - Get pupils to look at the introduction page in the
textbook. Get pupils to comment on the set up. Ask them
whether the picture depicts the same set up as the ones
they have gone to. Get them to talk about the
similarities and differences.
- Talk about the categories of stories found at the
bottom of the page. Get pupils to add to the list, if they
know more.
PRACTICE : - Get pupils to answer the first question on the page.
- List pupils’ responses on the board. The responses can be
turned into a chart.
- Get pupils to work in pairs for question 2. pupils tell
their friends favourite story.
PRODUCTION : - Ask a few pupils to tell their favourite story to the
class. Encourage other pupils to ask questions if they
have given earlier into the various categories ( fairy
tales, fables, mysteries, folk tales etc)
- Fairy tales = stories where magical things
happen/stories which are difficult to believe/stories
that did not really happen.
- Fables = stories that teaches moral lessons and are
usually about animals.
CLOSSURE : - Get pupils to reproduce the titles according to
categories on manila cards. Put the cards on the board
for future reference.

adjectives.
- Asks three pupils to come in front and get pupils to
compare their height & sizes.
- Explain to the pupils that some adjectives cannot take –
er or –est ; e.g. beautiful, shy, little, many, polite etc. in
the comparative form ( when we compare two things ),
we add ‘more’ to the adjective; e.g. more beautiful. In
the superlative form we add ‘most’ to the adjective; e.g.
most beautiful.
- Ask pupils to form the comparatives and superlatives to
the words given.
PRACTICE : 4B
- Divide pupils into groups of three. Each group will show
an object which illustrates the comparative and
superlative forms.
- When they have understood the use of these words, ask
them to reread the story to locate the comparatives and
superlatives used for the giraffe.
