Firstly, Green day is an American Punk Rock Band

formed in 1987. It consists of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead

vocalist and guitarists), Mike Dirnt (Bassist and backing
vocalist) and Tre Cool (Drummer). Green day’s origin is
from East way, California, USA. In addition, in 1987 by
Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt formed a two-man
band called Sweet Children at the age of 15. October 17
1987 was their first show at Rod’s Hickory Pit in Vallejo,
California. 1988 was when they recruited two more
members, they were Sean Hughes who played the bass
and John Kiffmeyer who played the drums /percussion.
However, Hughes left Sweet Children on 1989 causing
Larry Livermore (owner of the Lookout! Records) to make
the band signed to his label. The band also decided to
drop the name “Sweet Children” to “Green day.” The
reason behind this was that many people were getting
confused with the local band called Sweet Baby. Another
reason of changing their name to Green Day was that
they like Marijuana. Kiffmeyer also left Green Day in 1990
because of him being not committed to the band full-time.
Tre was his replacement when Kiffmeyer didn’t come and
so therefore, when Kiffmeyer left, Tre Cool was the new
replacement for Green Day from 1990-Present.
There has been “a thing” between Armstrong and
George W Bush. Armstrong hates him so much that he
would choke him to death if they were in the same room
together!

The best musical style this band represents is Alternative

Rock. This style uses Electric Guitar, Drums, and sometimes
Keyboard. It’s range from the dirty sounds of grunge to the
sounds of gothic rock to the Britpop. Alternative rock is a
style that has a mixture of Punk, New wave, and Post Punk
Music. In addition, it’s basically a hard-edged rock
distinguished by very brittle, 70’s inspired guitar riffing and
singers singing over their problems. Most of Alternative Rock
music tends to talk about social concern, such as drugs,
depression and major issues which affects the world. It’s the
unlimited expression of individualism, deep in it’s message and
making you want to listen by a nice rhythmic background. This
style is very important because of it’s rich history. Alternative
rock is kind of a mix of American and British culture. The
dynamics of this style is usually very loud all the way through
or soft at first, louder at the chorus and soft again. An
example, would be 21 guns because it’s starts softly in the
verses and loud in the chorus. I describe Alternative Rock as a
music that is not rock but nearly close to rock.
