    - Preganglionic Cavity (Heart, Lungs, Esophagus, - May innervate some Stomach
    - Synapse at target organ Trachea, Pharynx, Larynx, (lesser curvature) and some Liver
    Bronchi, Blood Vessels, etc.) Posterior Vagus
    - Innervates the Abdominal Cavity
    (Lower Esophagus, Stomach,
    Spleen, Pancreas, Liver, Gall
    Bladder, Small Intestine and
    Large Intestine thru 2/3
    Transverse Colon)
    - Note: Adrenal Gland has no
    Parasympathetic innervation

    Thoracic Splanchnics (T1-12)


    - Sympathetic - Cardiac Plexus & Ganglion - Cardiac: Heart and associated
    - Preganglionic components
    - Synapse at plexi - Pulmonary Plexus & Ganglion - Pulmonary: Lungs, Larynx,

    o No synapse b/c acts a
    connection point/junction for - Inferior Hypogastric: Inferior
    Sacral Splanchnic (S1-S5) Inferior Hypogastric P&G Rectum, Bladder, Gonads, and
    - Sympathetic - Inferior Hypogastric Plexus & associated ducts and glands
    - Preganglionic Ganglion
    - Synapse at plexi o Synapse
    - Go directly to Inferior o Lumbar from Superior
    Hypogastric and direct Sacral Splanchnics

    Pelvic Splanchnics (S2-4) - Latter 1/3 Transverse Colon,


    - Parasympathetic Descending Colon, Sigmoid,
    - Preganglionic Superior and Inferior Rectum,
    - Synapse at target organ Kidney, Bladder, Gonads, and
    associated ducts and glands
    - Note: Adrenal Gland has no
    Parasympathetic innervation
