Addicons in the TwentyFirst Century
A One Day Conference for all Clinicians, Saturday, January 29, 2011
In these rapidly changing, technologically driven mes, therapists need to be aware how to assess and determine the nature of
process addicons, all of which include Internet use and abuse. These are behavioral problems that don’t necessarily involve
drugs or alcohol, yet undermine relaonships, careers and family life in a similar way to addicve substances. This conference
will provide an overview of the assessment and treatment of four types of process addicons: Sex, Shopping, Gambling and
Gaming. Our presenters will emphasize the treatment process and look at the neurobiology, underlying causes, selfdestrucve
behaviors and denial that are a part of these addicve behaviors.
Join us in our mission to keep mental health professionals up to date on the current trends in assessing and delivering the
best clinical care.
