• garlic powder • onion powder • ¾ cup bread crumbs • 1 egg • 8 slices of low fat American cheese • 6-8 whole wheat buns or pitas
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Mix ingredients in large bowl with a large spoon, except cheese and buns. 3. Shape into 6 or 8 patties. 4. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. (use cooking spray or canola oil) 5. Bake for 15 minutes then flip to other side and bake 10 more minutes or until cooked through. (160 degrees F) 6. Place one slice of cheese on each burger and bake enough to melt the cheese. 7. Carefully remove them from the oven and eat on a bun or in a wheat pita pocket with your favorite vegetables.

Nutrition Note
Using lean ground beef or turkey, low fat cheese, and canola oil cooking spray decreases the amount of saturated fat, which promotes heart health.
