The Wood County Committee on Aging Sponsors:
(WCCOA) opened its first senior center
in September 1975 with a mission to plan
and develop programs and services that will
allow older adults to remain as independent
as possible for as long as possible. As a
not-for-profit agency, WCCOA operates
seven senior centers in Wood County Blakely Care Center is known for its
providing a multitude of serives such as excellent quality of health care, friendly
atmosphere, cleanliness, and attentiveness
home delivered meals, congregate meals,
to residents and visitors. We care for seniors
support groups, minor home repairs,
with skilled and professional nursing,
volunteer opportunities, lifelong learning
and a complete range of physical and
opportunities, trips, technology classes, rehabilitation therapies, for a more active
health and fitness classes, educational life. But beyond that, we get to know our
programs, and social services including residents as a party of our family; greeting
a clinic for blood pressure, blood sugar, them in their own rooms, sharing our

“The Hidden Treasures” calendar is a compilation of artwork from those 50 and over who live in Wood County. Artists were provided the opportunity to state, “What is art
to you?” The calendar was designed by Tiffany Steele, WCCOA intern and the photography was completed by Brandon Steel. Sponsorship for this calendar was provided by
Blakely Care Center and Walmart. Proceeds from the calendar will be used to enhance creative arts programming at the Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc.
