Uses of the (Simple) Future Tense
Simple statements of future facts
She will start school this September.
Opinions, assumptions, beliefs,
doubts, hopes or fears about the future.
I do not think they will be here
tomorrow.
I hope he will join us for dinner.
I am afraid he will drop out of school this
semester.

The simple future tense is used
with words and phrases like:
later, tomorrow, next week, next
month, next year, in two weeks,
etc. :
I will see you tomorrow.
John will arrive next week.

Uses of the Future Continuous Tense
For an arranged action that will be taking
place at a certain time in the future
(present continuous is used in this same
function)
This time tomorrow I will be sun bathing
on Maillorca.
Uses like:
I will be seeing you tomorrow.
I will be thinking of you all the time.

Future in the Past
expresses the idea that in the past
you thought something would
happen in the future. "Would“ and
"was/were going to“ are used.
I told you he was going to come to
the party. 
He promised he would send a
postcard from Egypt.

Future in the Past Continuous

Expresses an action going on in


the period of time considered
future from the point of time in the
past.

He said he would be travelling


around the world in June.

GOING TO + bare infinitive of the main verb
This form is used to express: certainty,
intention of the speaker, extreme
probability (in the opinion of the speaker),
a plan made in advance.
I am going to pass that exam no matter what!
I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow for
sure, I do not feel well.
N.B. Going to cannot be used for simple
statements of future facts.
e.g. You cannot say: I am going to be 21 next
month.
